Highlight of the tasting. Smoooooth! Most mellow beer of the tasting for sure, but not lacking in flavor. Fuckin cool flavor. Unlike any beer I’ve ever had. Just plain delicious. Should have bottled this one.

Draught at Avery. Pours opaque with a medium, frothy dark brown head, some retention with fair lacing. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, licorice, prune, chocolate and medium hops. Flavor is bitter dark chocolate, hops with dark fruit, bourbon, and oak. Full bodied, dry finish, heavy carbonation.

On tap at Avery Barrel Room poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of rye, oak, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of rye, oak, vanilla, dark chocolate and light coffee with a smooth lingering rye finish.

black with a brown head. spiced rye and caramel nose along with a small amount of chocolate malt - spiced rye and very tannic oak bring a richness and fullness not found in the regular black tot or the unoaked. improved... they should have bottled this one.
