COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Re-named BA Meph Addict.
Our very own Parker, of the cartoon and cat loving variety, created this cult classic character back in our 17th season. Appearing in several episodes under another stage name that was deemed inappropriate, our executive producers and editors decided that a name change and further character development—a 4-month Hiatus in bourbon barrels—were necessary to satisfy our most ardent and demanding viewers.

12oz bottle. Black pour with thin tan head and legs. Strong nose of coffee, bourbon and wood, with booze. Very big flavors of molasses, espresso coffee, with bourbon. Thick and harsh (needs a little time to mellow). Sticky and burns in the finish. Expensive.

Pours a deep black with a small bubbly tan head. Aroma of peppers, vanilla, coffee, oak and bourbon. Flavor of peppers, coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Not overly sweet or hot for such a high abv

½" thick dark tan head on the pour of this fragrant espresso colored brew. Speaking of espresso, there's no shortage of coffee here, along with strong toasted oak and spice at the outset. As the pour comes to temperature, the spice wears off. In the end, I'd describe this as a less boozy Bourbon County Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Strong Ale 2014. Black pour with a finger of tan foam. Woah, smells like bourbon. High boost aroma on this one. Still has a lot of coffee and sort of a spicy whiskey and coffee note to it. A lot of chocolate and fudge. Flavor is kind of harsh in terms of the bourbon and booze character. Lots of coffee, but not as much as the regular version. Hot fudge, roasted malt, and spicy oak and coffee beans.

12/19/2014. 12 oz. bottle. Black with a beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, and bourbon aromas. Thick and robust. The high alcohol is not really that dominating. Flavors are sweet and sappy at first then turns bitter.

One of the best pours Ive seen from a bottle - motor oil with a big tan head. Aroma is spicy oak, mild vanilla, coffee and chocolate; can smell the alcohol too. Taste out front is great - vanilla, spicy oak, some bourbon, nice choc sweetness. Next is complex and hurtful dark malt assault just on edge of bitter side; as it warms got quite a bite of alcohol - close to undrinkable at colder temp. Bourbon choc vibe and marshmallow develops as it warms. But it still burns! I think this needs way more age to develop and settle down but already a complex and exciting beer.

The aroma is brown sugar, bourbon, sweet, smooth coffee, nice. The ppearance is deep black, tan head. The flavor is boozy, bourbon, sweet, molasses, coffee, cream. Thick, cream in body. The finish is pine, booze. Very nice.

Bottle from Tipples. Pleasantly surprised to see this hit Florida distro. Pricey as hell at $15 a bottle but had to try it once. Pours nearly pitch black--not quite as thick looking as Uncle Jacobs or Black Eye--with a nicely forming dark brown head on top. Aroma of beautiful vanilla and licorice, some coffee, dark fruits, molasses, chocolate. Picks up the bourbon tones without smelling like a shot of bourbon. Smells soft and smooth and very nice. Taste is sweet molasses and cocoa, a bit of coffee spice, with a sweet boozy finish that leaves a bit of vanilla and a bit of earthy coffee left coating the palate. Some metallic notes. Boozy for sure, much thinner than I had hoped but still big and rich. I’m not a fan of Mephistopheles, honestly, and I feel like that dislike is coming through a bit here relative to its peers like Uncle Jacobs and Black eye. But it’s definitely an improvement over the base by miles and a solid after dinner sipper.

Tap. Deep jet black, darker khaki head. Big bourbon, coffee, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Good deal is sweetness but lots of toasted coffee to help balance, nice touch of bourbon vanilla notes in the flavor ashy dry finish. Thick, viscosity is high, and warming.
