Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Feb 1, 2009 Shared with the boys for Cellar Reduction #3. Batch 2. Pours cloudy orange with fair white head. Sweet malty nose with a fruity bready yeastiness and alcohol notes. The alcohol is well masked in the flavor but still has a nice warming. Dark rum soaked fruits, candi sugar, yeast. Decent velvety body. I do like the mindset behind this beer. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Feb 1, 2009 Updated: Apr 14, 2009Bottle with Butters and sixfootsix at the 3rd Cellar Reduction. Batch 2. Pours an off-white head that laces with a honeyed amber body. Smells of dark ripe fruit, malt, and yeast. Tastes the same. Good brew. blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA Jan 31, 2009 22 0z bottle batch 2 bottled 2/08 poured a murky dark amber color with a thin light tan head . aroma has sweet over ripe dark fruit, light yeast, chewy underlying malt, and candy sugar sweetness. mouth feel is a solid medium with low carbonation. flavor has loads of dark ripe fruit, rich complementing malt, high sweetness, and slightly funked fruited yeast. fairly hefty and rich but comes off smooth and well balanced.

ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 31, 2009 Batch #2.
Appearance: Opaque, mahogany-hued body with a very thin (oh no there it goes), white head.
Smell: Sweet-smelling, fruity nose of raisins, stone fruits, and toasted malts layered with dark caramel sauce and candi sugar, as well as cloves and freshly-grated nutmeg.
Taste: Toasted dark caramel maltiness with a sweet kick of candi sugar. Small dash of cocoa powder and gooey dark brown sugar. Meager hint of booze. Again, there’s a wide variety of fruits to be found, and I now feel healthier for having drank this beer. White grapes, green raisins, apricot. Spicy clove and earthy nutmeg component. Very minor sour yeastiness. Some final muted malt hints on the drying, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-plus carbonation. Very light stickiness to the overall mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A fairly tasty and enjoyable beer made from one good beer, one so-so beer, one sweet story, and one dopey name. Kirill (264), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 28, 2009 i was expecting some strong belgian shit but it was so hoppy that it almost swayed more towards a really strong IPA... bitter but smooth with a lingering aftertaste mjs (1446), Helsinki, Finland Jan 27, 2009 (Bottle, batch #2, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-01-27) Deep amber.
