zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 23, 2008 Draft at Stub & Herb’s. Pours a reddish-brown body with creamy, off-white head. Aroma of malts, sugar, and some fruit. Medium-bodied and well-balanced. Flavors of dark fruit - plum, raisin, along with some apple and malts. Finish is a bit dry and earthy with a slight alcohol burn. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Apr 23, 2008 Draft at Oldsmar Tap House. I didn’t take too many notes on this one. It was sweet and more alcoholic than its ABV would suggest. Not too much in the way of hoppiness. Pretty good, but not all that memorable. topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Apr 21, 2008 22 oz bottle pours amber with a two inch off white head. Aroma is banana and belgian yeast. Flavor is clove, banana, ripe fruit, and spices. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Apr 21, 2008 Was not impressed. Nice backstory to the beer. Good to see breweries joining forces. Wish the beer was as good as the story. Cloudy brown body with a small beige head. Malt, brown sugar, alcohol, toffee in the nose. Same elements in the flavor with the addition of apple. Was not the sum of its parts.
tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Apr 21, 2008 ’07 bottle. smooth moutfeel, fruitycharacter with an even dry/sweet malt balance. Impressive compoments but no-impressive results this time. kyzr (1119), Belgrade, Montana, USA Apr 20, 2008 Thick brown pour with brown head. Nose sweet with fruit. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a little fruit and malt. Very smooth texture and was suprised by the alcohol. It is well hidden with the creamy texture. Nice clean finish. dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Apr 20, 2008 Pours muddy brown, with a quickly diminishing head... not the best way to start this one out, given as I was pretty stoked to try this gimmick from two great breweries. Aroma is sticky sweet fruit. Flavor is spicy, nice and tangy on the tongue. A bit too carbonated for me. The hops aren’t at the forefront, but there is an earthiness that you can attribute to them in there somewhere. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Apr 20, 2008 Big thanks to ucusty for this one. Bottle. Aroma has notes of yeast, malt, banana, bread, dark fruit. Above average sized off-white head that mostly lasted and left some lace. Deep amber brown hue. Flavor is sweet yeast, bread, candi malt, dark fruit, pineapple, spice. Palate is medium bodied with a little more than soft carbonation. A good one thats right on the money in every category.
