Commercial Description:
Salvation. The name of two intricate Belgian-style ales created by us, Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing and Adam Avery of Avery Brewing. After becoming friends a few years ago, we realized that we both had a Salvation in our line-ups. Was it going to be a problem? Should one of us relinquish the rights? "Hell no!" we said. In fact, it was quickly decided that we should blend the brews to catch the best qualities of each and create an even more complex libation. In April 2004, in top-secret meeting at Russian River Brewing (well actually it was packed in the pub, and many were looking over our shoulders wondering what the hell was going on), we came up with the perfect blend of the two Salvations. Natalie, Vinnie’s much more significant other, exclaimed, "We should call this Collaboration, not Litigation Ale!" "Perfect!" we shouted. We celebrated deep into the night, (or is it morning?). Fast forward to November 14, 2006. After talking about it for over 2 years we finally decided to pull the trigger and Vinnie flew out to Avery to brew his Salvation exactly as he does in his brewery. This was blended with Avery’s Salvation December 11th, 2006. We hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed brewing and blending it.

One of my more favorite Belgian Strong Ales. Hazy orange color with a soft white head. Aroma is malty. Taste is not as sweet as some. The sweetness is what usually turns me off. Hop bite at the finish.

Bottled. Orange coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Sweetness, alcohol, spice and fruits in the aroma. Has some citric and caramelly notes as well. Flavour is a bit flat. Some spice and sweetness is there. Herbal and citric notes. Medium bodied. Alcoholdense sweetness in the end and a light bitterness.

Bottle. [Another great tasting session @ Papsoe] Large beige thick and creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Light cloudy amber color with particles in flow. Aroma of lovely apricot, pine, citrus, sweet grapefruit, toffee, grain. Over the palate light spicy and fruity notes. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with a hint of acidic. Lingering sweet and fruity melon finish. Lovely beer, I could drink this all night. 7 / 3 / 7 / 3 / 15

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark copper color with a medium off white head. Aroma of yeast, malt and fermented fruits. Has a nice semi sweet smell. Flavor of the same with a little spice thrown in. Extremely smooth and easy to drink. Alcohol is well hidden. Has a semi sweet, clean finish.

Poured reddish amber with a nice velvetty long lasting head. Yeast, candy sugar, and some orange/soft citrus hops. A blend of spice, yeast, orange, a subdued sweetness, and a little alcohol are the main aspects of the flavor. Nice medium carbonation that was extremely smooth to drink with the slightest touch of alcohol in the finish.

22oz bottle(Bottle in 1/07)-An amber light brown body with a nice small tan head. Aroma of it of roasted malt, hops, belgain yeast, and sweetness. A medium to full bodied with the taste being the same with all the flavors mixing together but not coming out tasting like a mess.A little bit of alcohol on the back end. A great tasting brew. 22oz bottle(Batch 2 Bottled 2/08)-An amber body with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, hops, belgian yeast, and sweetness. Taste of everything I mentioned with a nice malty back end. A great tasting brew. Same Rating 7/3/7/3/17

Pours deep ruby red color with not much head. Smells strong and sweet, similar to a barley wine. A little sticky in the mouth but not cloying. Tastes clean for a sweeter beer. Decent malt backbone.
