Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Jul 22, 2007 1 pt. 5 fl. oz. bottle. Copper coloured. Tall beige head. Lightly sour nose. Notest of apricot and hay. Low carbonation level most likely because all came out when poured. Some particles in the beer. Quite sweet malt flavour. Surprisingly sweet actually. Not particularly interesting nor complex. But easily drinkable. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 20, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark, murky, leather color. Small head that disappears quickly. Smell of caramels and a nice garden. Malty mouthfeel with a beet/carrot like finish. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Jul 20, 2007 Purchased bottle from a local liquor store. Interesting flavors. Pretty good mix. muddyfeet (72), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2007 Poured a muddy brown color. Very "clean" looking head that completely dissolved rather quickly Very flat in appearance. Nose was wheat malts and citrus.
Flavor was heavy on wholesomeness. Surprisingly wheaty. Yeast very pungent and seemed to coat the cheeks. A tad sour as well. Picked out some light fruits as well. Mouthfeel was a tad short of full and perhaps a bit syrupy. Served a bit too cold and I hate to let it warm up to really notice the flavors. Goblincat (356), Westland, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2007 Nice looking brownish-red with a nice off-white head. It has a sugary prune and spice nose. The taste is earthy, brown sugar, spices, and caramel, all with a light bite. An interesting and decent offering. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Jul 15, 2007 Bottle. Huge malty nose, Belgian yeast with flowers, caramel, cherry, clove, and a dark earthiness. Faint banana. Pretty red-amber body with medium-strong carbonation and a beautiful rich, foamy, rocky, creamy beige head. Full-bodied and very dry with a long, very dry yeast aftertaste. Subtle bitterness. Earthy caramel tends to dominate, with lighter floral and fruity notes pushed aside somewhat. Brown sugar and a touch of Weizen-spiciness. Just feels heavy in the mouth. Warming with a bit of hop prickling in the throat and back of mouth. End result is somewhat muddled, and a bit of a disappointment considering the lovely aroma. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2007 Rated 7/13/07. Cloudy, reddish-brown body with a small white film for a head that leaves behind a decent amount of lacing. The aroma is that of a typical Belgian Strong, primarily dark fruits and sweet, sugary malts. The flavor was unrefined dark fruits, with a high sugar content. Smooth beer with a nice finish, but the body was exceedingly sticky and sweet. Could definitely use some time to mellow, but I don’t know if this beer can ever get past its excessive sweetness. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2007 Pours dark murky brown with a bronze hue and thick soapy tan head. The aroma has dark bready malt, 7-up character, raisins, dates, noticeable Belgium yeast and a decent, but not overwhelming amount of sweetness. Medium body with some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with caramel, white grapes, yeasty funk, raisins and candy sugar. I’ve not had the R.R. Salvation before, but at the beginning when the beer was cooler it seemed like two beers put together that weren’t fully blended - as it warmed there was more of a meshing of the beers. The finish has a spicy hop kick and not much else. This was quite good, but I was expecting more from it.
