3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Deep cranberry-orange, the color of a well-made Manhattan. A fuzzy, dense tan head atop deposits lovely lacing. The aroma blends toffee, candied pecans, red apple, cotton candy and a bit of pear -- smells like the fair. The flavor is more Belgian than the nose, interestingly, with more green apple and pear along with a hint of banana, pepper and burnt sugar. Soft medium body, moderate fizzy carbonation. Not the best example of a Belgian brew, but decent nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle purchased at Elevated and consumed at Nagy’s new pad. Mug as drinking vessel. Copper. Off white head. Aroma is more malt and grain than I anticipated. Sugars and caramel as well. Taste has malt and caramel/toffee notes. Maybe honey too. Syrupy mouthfeel. Aftertaste of Belgian candied sugar. Reminds me of mid level Belgian ales. Good, not great.
