COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Salvation. The name of two intricate Belgian-style ales created by us, Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing and Adam Avery of Avery Brewing. After becoming friends a few years ago, we realized that we both had a Salvation in our line-ups. Was it going to be a problem? Should one of us relinquish the rights? "Hell no!" we said. In fact, it was quickly decided that we should blend the brews to catch the best qualities of each and create an even more complex libation. In April 2004, in top-secret meeting at Russian River Brewing (well actually it was packed in the pub, and many were looking over our shoulders wondering what the hell was going on), we came up with the perfect blend of the two Salvations. Natalie, Vinnie’s much more significant other, exclaimed, "We should call this Collaboration, not Litigation Ale!" "Perfect!" we shouted. We celebrated deep into the night, (or is it morning?). Fast forward to November 14, 2006. After talking about it for over 2 years we finally decided to pull the trigger and Vinnie flew out to Avery to brew his Salvation exactly as he does in his brewery. This was blended with Avery’s Salvation December 11th, 2006. We hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed brewing and blending it.

On tap served in a tulip glass A - Pours a murky amber orange color with a fleeting off white cap. Mild lacing S - Roasted toffee/caramel, yeasty, cloves, dates, golden raisins, orange tea, smells pretty sweet. T - Sweet toffee malts, caramelized brown sugar, cloves, nutmeg, sugary dates, raisins, red delicious apples. Has a strong orange tea flavor that really stands out. Stone fruit mixes in well with the caramelized malts. Some peppery bitterness starts to build riding through to the finish. M - Medium to full body but thins out as it sets, low carbonation, smoother feel. A well blended brew that went down smooth. Not as good as I was expecting but still good. Glad I got to try it on tap though. Serving type: on-tap 03-13-2013

From the tap the pour is auburn dark red and clear with a thin white head, aroma is distinctly Belgian - yeasty and deep carmel notes, gentle roasting notes a little banana, finish is heavier but overly thick. It is a solid beer, a great malty sipper.

Old rating. Murky brown. Brown sugar, dried fruit, Belgian, some oakiness. Solid all around.

Lots of bubble gum notes on the nose. The Belgian yeast is playing it’s part. The beer pour a muddy orange/brown with a head that dissapates quickly, has a slight alcohol burn which is a downer - really takes away from the flavors of this beer.

22 oz. bottle from notes. Pours a hazy, muddy brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma had caramel, brown sugar, candi sugar, yeast, some peach character, a hint of anise and dried fruits. The flavor had caramel, molasses, dried fruits, some sweetness, some peach, yeast, light spice, light hops, with some alcohol, flash of anise, medium plus body, very smooth.

First a caveat - I like a good Belgian now and again but it's far from my favorite style. Nose of light fruit and malts with a slight but unpleasant metallic tang to it. Roasted copper hue with light, pale and enduring head. Very pleasant on the palate with typical Belgian fruit, but heavier roasted malt character than is typical (though quite pleasant to me). Rich mouthfeel with moderate effervescence. Finish lingers pleasantly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Batch #8. Pours a dark, copper color with a thin white head. Light, cherry aroma with a thick malt presence. Nice, tart berry flavor with a malty kick. Really good collaboration.

Earthy yeasty bubblegum aromas come from this clear brown brew with a bit of fod floating around. Sweet malty with a typical belgian flavor and a nice war,th in the aftertaste. Its medium bodied and leaves a nice feeling on your pallet.

Cherry and faint wooden notes. A sweet yet boozy aroma back the bet as well. Cherry and amaretto start, while whiskey finishes the palate. A great, evenly balanced brew that offers a lot as it sits. Incredibly dynamic flavor profule.

Nice brew. A little musky for my taste but a great crossover Belgian/American ale ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Spiced malts, reddish hops, yeast, earth components. This dark ale isn’t bad and it’s weird too. Some mint. I really enjoyed it.
