Commercial Description:
Salvation. The name of two intricate Belgian-style ales created by us, Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing and Adam Avery of Avery Brewing. After becoming friends a few years ago, we realized that we both had a Salvation in our line-ups. Was it going to be a problem? Should one of us relinquish the rights? "Hell no!" we said. In fact, it was quickly decided that we should blend the brews to catch the best qualities of each and create an even more complex libation. In April 2004, in top-secret meeting at Russian River Brewing (well actually it was packed in the pub, and many were looking over our shoulders wondering what the hell was going on), we came up with the perfect blend of the two Salvations. Natalie, Vinnie's much more significant other, exclaimed, "We should call this Collaboration, not Litigation Ale!" "Perfect!" we shouted. We celebrated deep into the night, (or is it morning?). Fast forward to November 14, 2006. After talking about it for over 2 years we finally decided to pull the trigger and Vinnie flew out to Avery to brew his Salvation exactly as he does in his brewery. This was blended with Avery's Salvation December 11th, 2006. We hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed brewing and blending it.

Dark gold to amber color body with a steady layer of white head. Biscuity, yeasty, citrus zest, and a touch of caramel in the aroma. Flavor is peppery, also come caramel, brown sugar, a strange vegetable quality. Light, pretty easy to drink but not memorable.

Hazy medium rusty brown body with a slightly off white head. The aroma is sweet with some rasiins and caramel. There is also some amaretto. The taste is light caramel and pears with some spicy cinnamon in the finish. This finishes fairly dry and has some banana peels in the finish. A decent brew.

Bottled. Cloudy chesnut color with nice lace and thin head. Aroma is sweet dark cherry and funky yeast. Flavor is complex, with understated hoppiness that still manages to finish long and sweet. Interesting beer.

On draft at O’Brien’s. Appearance is a dense orange-amber hue, thing sprinkling of white foam, moderate lacing. Smell is light fruits, sugary sweetness, Belgian yeasts, very subtle overall. Taste is also light fruits and belgian yeast, pale and caramel malts, hints of dark fruit in the middle, some brown sugar and molasses near the end, moderate alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied, creamy thick texture, high carbonation. Initially pleasing flavor profile quickly fades from the palate leaving very little to linger, alcohol and carbonation are both on the verge of being distracting, expected more bold flavor for this style.

Thanx oh6gdx. Hazy brown in color, bubbly beige head, lacings. The aroma is hoppy and almost juniper berry like. The flavor is sweet and malty with a distinct hoppiness.
