Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a sour cherry apple aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a sour cherry and vanilla with a nice lingering lighr dry finish. Hides alcohol well, a very good sour ale from Avery.

Bottle:   Reddish caramel, thin spritzy off-white head, fizzles out quickly, sparce lacing.   Tart fruity nose, cherry skin, some wooden aspects too.   Tart unripened fruitiness on the tongue.   Mild sweetness, somewhat dry, with a well hidden 9.59% ABV.   Smooth mouthfeel, moderate body.   This one certainly tastes real, unlike many other examples.   Overall its a tart lightly sweetened unripened like fruity (cherry) flavor with a background of some woodiness.   Good stuff!

Beershine (4704) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Draft @ Avery taproom. Red-orange, a dark but warm hue with slight haze and a nice glow. Not much to no head. Aroma is maturely funky. Sour cherry, including skins and seeds. Drinkable. I can’t believe it has as high an ABV as it does. Excellent wood character is dry, mellow, and mature. Not too acidic. Has a solid Brett + cherries character with undercurrents of funk.

They pulled this out at the tap room - maybe not retired? Light bronze. No head. Woody, with light tartness and a little bit of an orangey note. A little balsamic accent comes through in the finish.

Pours reddish mahogany with fizzy head. Aroma of musty hay and deep cherry and plum notes. Flavor is unique, with the typical sour cherry flavors fading to sweet fig and subtle caramel. Very nice.

Drank 9/2/11. Nose is sour cherries as expected but spicy zin notes show through as does some subtle strawberry with warmth. No lacing. Color is a pretty, pinkish brown. Cloudy. Sour but not over the top, thin body and hits front and back palate. Cola, cherries, coconut, and a bit of very well integrated oak. Really tasty. Wish I had more.

(bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2, sampled 7/5/10). Clear amber/ruby color. Small off white head. Strong sour aroma, with moderate brett/barnyard character. Flavor of the same, with light sweet cherry. Avg duration. Dry finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

Bottle from mj/3-4/acrdzr/chainsawgutsfuck
Pours a rich, deep amber/brown with an aroma of malted sour cherry cedar. Flavor is a septic tank of cedar, malted cherry, and wet wood. Slippery mouthfeel. Better as it warms.

Bottled Mar 31, 2010. Pours clear chestnut brown with a medium khaki head, very fine dissipating lacing. Some farmyard aromas, with hay, cherry, berries, grass, and vanilla. Medium full body, sharp, crisp. Medium sweetness, fairly strong citrus tartness, mild bitter finish. Surprisingly drinkable and smooth, an excellent sour ale.
