Ernest (4178), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 13, 2008 Draught, Boulder Strong Ale Fest, Apr 08.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of banana/gum and alcohol.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Esters seem to steal the show a bit here, which is odd for a lager but so be it. Very sweet without much to balance. Not fond of this one. patrick767 (1377), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 6, 2008 tap at the brewery - Pours slightly hazy golden with a lingering white head. It smells mainly of pale malts. The taste is sweet with a little alcohol and a hint of fruit esters. It’s medium bodied and has a warming finish. This one’s alright, but doesn’t quite work for me. The regular Salvation is better (this beer is the Salvation recipe lagered).
