Into the glass, this pours a golden-orange into the glass, with a frothy head that leaves thick lacing. The nose is orange-laden florals, almost a citric gastrique. The flavors are similar, with lots of melon, orange, rose hips and finishes with an orange liqueur. The palate is sticky, with a lightly alcoholic mouthfeel and full body. The lupulin hops provide a melony, light effervescence to a thick offering. Nice job on the style here.

Had on tap at The Mayor of Old Town. The aroma is fruity American hops. The flavor is grassy, resinous, caramel, malty. I would like a fruitier hop flavor profile.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft, this was a refreshing imperial IPA. It lacked a hard bite but that was actually a good thing because this beer was fantastic. Slightly different from most IIPA’s but I liked that about it.

Hazy orange colored pour. Big off-white head. Plenty of lacing. Huge piney and citrus aroma with a big malt presence. Taste is spot on with the nose. Big malt sweetness and a bitterness that lingers for a bit. By far the best beer from Avery that I have had.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft @ Bicycle bar, Denver, Colorado. Pours a clear amber beer with a small, off white head on top. Aroma is citrus, honey malts, caramel, grapefruit. Flavour is quite bitter, heavy on citrus, medium bittersweet finish. Flavour is quite complex for an IIPA, well balanced between hops and malt. Nice brew.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours cloudy gold with a medium off white head. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, and mango. Taste is initially all of those fruits, but it quickly changes to a very assertive hop flavor (not quite pine). Finish is long and mildly bitter. The flavors in this one combine so well - very well done!

A: Amber Hue, Passes Most Light, White Head, Great Lacing
S: Piney, Resin, Mildly Dank
T: Piney, Resin, Mild Bread
M: Great Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Bitter, Mildly Drying
Overall, a pretty bitter and hard DIPA, definitely a palette wrecker.
