COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

On tap from Five Points Growlers in Athens, GA. I suspect that the seal on my growler might not have been quite airtight, as this was leaden and stale by the time I drank it. This gave off abundant but muted hop aromas, and its dark amber body suggested a pleasant sipper, yet it sat heavy and dull in my mouth and my glass. A disappointment from a brewer that usually does high end hops very well, and one I would like to try again to see if perhaps the beer (or I) was just having a bad day.

Bomber bottle poured a cloudy orange hue w/ a large creamy white head slowly diminishing to a thin cap w/ excellent lacing. Big sweet citrus aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are straw, orange, grapefruit, and pine. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, and nice carbonation level.

Deuce, pours a light murky brownish orange with off white head. The aroma is primarily malty with some citrus. Taste is caramel malt, pine, citrus, and grapefruit with big time bitterness. Not bad but a bit more malty than I generally prefer in a DIPA.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a cloudy/hazy golden orange colored body with a one and a half fingered white foamy head that rises just a bit and then falls leaving some nice slightly foamy sticky lacing gracing the sides of the glass. The smell had a large amount of grapefruit up front, some pineapple coming through as well in a really nice juicy sort of way, a slight maltiness comes through as it warms, what a nice invitation! The taste was slightly spicey but a sort of strong sweetness from the previously mentioned flavors trying its hardest to come out, a peppery/spicey aftertaste, quick dry spicey finish. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, carbonation is slightly felt for a DIPA, however, it seems just a tad under carbonated to me as I was expecting something just a bit sharper. Overall, I would say this is a good DIPA that I’m pretty sure I would have again.

Bottle. Pours copper orange with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Flavor was big and bitter with piney resin, fresh citrus, caramel and grapefruit with a long & mildly bitter finish.

great, ballsy DIPA. Plenty of hops, but what stands out here is the sweet malty backbone. Very nice

Bomber. Nose is full of tropical hops, lemon and lychee over spicy and very strong dough, some resin. Pours hazy golden with orange highlights and a sudsy beige head. Taste strongly bitter, medium carbonation in a full body, light sweetness, luxuriously smooth body with non-burning but still slithery alcohol, dank pine character and softened, gummy resinous character. Some floral and mango notes after a few ounces, overall orange. Decent malt spine but the hops I’d guess to be more aggressive by design are a bit too dulled -- I assumed this to be a fresh bottle, maybe it needs to be had even fresher?
