4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Strong, boozy, roasted pine hop explosion. Good stuff, wish it was cheaper and easier to find. Toasted marmalade, grapefruit, pine, slight pinneapple and cracked peanut shells on finish. Abv comes through pretty hard, and although it gives it a creamy fullness, its a bit too much of an alcohol kick for me so I had to drop a few points. Still, if you like big, bad ass american style dipa’s dont pass this one up...

22 oz. bomber poured into a pint glass. Pours a deep golden color with a white fluffy head. The head lingers a bit leaving substantial lacing. Wonderful aroma. Very fresh and hoppy. Citrusy and a bit piney. Nary a hint of malt. Taste disappoints a little compared to the nose. The hop flavor isn’t as pronounced. It’s not overly malty, but the sweetness is just a bit too much. The aroma led me to believe it would be a wonderfully hoppy beer and the taste is kind of a letdown. Low carbonation gives it a creamy feel. Medium bodied. Good, but in the end it’s too malty to be all that great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Malty sweet aroma with a bit of a pine resiny hop aroma, but it almost gives it a bit of a tropical finish to the aroma. Taste is very malty but somehow not sticky. Piney hops balance the malt very nicely. Has the bitter resinous finish, but it is muted by the malt. There is a bit of medicinal hops in the finish as well. This is a full flavored malty IPA, but surprisingly good, and I tend to not like the piney ipas, I think the balance between malt and hops helps with this one.

Hazy , deep golden color. Big off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and pine , but some weird funky notes make it messy and dirty. Great , bold , hoppy , Avery's bitterness in taste , balanced by sweet, caramel malt.

Wow, I can?t believe I?ve never rated this... Candi sugar, brown sugar, citrusy hops. Deep gold color, clean complexion. Malty and more sweet than hoppy, orangey citrus, a bit of bubblegum; alcohol fairly hidden considering the alcohol. Medium to medium full, smooth. Seems like this might be the precursor to the new IPA/Trippels that seem to be all the rage now.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
It pours a cloudy golden orange with an off white head that leaves considerable lacing. It has aromas of dried fruit and caramel. It has a sweet taste that features caramel, dried fruit, and some citrus. It is bitter on the palate, but not overwhelmingly.

Bottle. Dirty straw coloured body, lasting off white head. Piney hops with earthy undertones, straw like malts, long bitter finish. A bit rough in the finish. Not something I could drink a lot of.

Just didn’t like it much. Funky nose and taste. Maybe it is just due to the cold that I have.

This is one of my favorite Imperial IPA’s. No bitter or grapefruit aftertaste, which is a major requirement. Not quite as good as Omegatex, or Ruin Ten, but definitely worth a bottle or two when they go into production.
