Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Bottle. Pours clear brown with an average, fizzy, brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates and brown paper bags. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Bottled. Pours a clear brown with a small off white head. The aroma is nutty with some sweet roasted malt. There is also some grassy bitterness and citrus notes that find their way through. The flavor is moderately sweet roasted malt, nuts, and fruit. Unfortunately, there is also a sourness that is distracting. Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.

Mahogany-brown with a dense head. Nutty aroma with loads of caramel and orange notes. Sweet roasted flavours to begin with, going into a dry hoppy feeling toward the end.

Ruby brown with a finger of tan head. Very sweet malt, caramel, and sweet candy aroma. Solid body with a bit of carbonation. Sweet malty flavors with a bit of hop finish but mostly lingering sweetness.
