Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Apple and nut aroma. Dark amber color with a medium brown head. Sweet apple malt flavor in the beginning that fades slightly in the finish.

Pours dark amber/brown with a 1.5 inch head that lasts 3 minutes. Medium lacing. Strong aroma of carmamel malts and a little coffee. Good flavor, slightly sweet, malty ale, little chocolate, vanilla, and brown sugar tast. Cold, clean mouthfeel. Very refreshing. Mild finish. A damn fine brown.

12 oz. bottle on 2/23/2008. Deep. clear brown body under a healthy, foamy light tan head that collapses pretty quickly. Nice malty aroma with notes of molasses, caramel, and roasted nuts. Smooth medium body with a gentle richness and light stickiness. The malty sweetness dominates the flavor, layered over a very soft bitterness that provides a subtle balance. Very easy to drink, not assertive, a good session beer that would match up well with a variety of foods.
