Tastes much the same, very smooth and pretty tasty. I could drink a few of these, but there are better brown ales out there. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2008 tap at the brewery - Pours clear dark brown with a thin, light tan head. The aroma is big on the caramel malt. The flavor is sweet and caramelized. It’s very smooth on the palate, medium bodied, and finishes with some good mild hops lingering for a short time. It’s a pretty good session brew and a solid take on the style. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 This was a pretty tasty brew. Poured a very deep, dark reddish brown color, with a nice tan head. Smelled nutty with some hints of caramel and chocolate. Tastes very nutty with a hint of vanilla and caramel. Fells full in the mouth with little carbonation. A very good brown ale, would drink again. andyhite (293), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2008 12 oz bottle. glowing dark brown pour, subtle head. toasted brown sugar, caramel, butterscotch, and even an underlaying chocolate syrup are present in the aroma. it smells like it’s a bit syrupy, like molasses or those chewy caramel candies that are wrapped in clear plastic. the taste shows a heavier ale, with roasted caramel malts, burnt toast, cola like mouthfeel, and a bit of a rough finish. it’s actually really easy to drink, and a good ale at that.
