Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Nice reddish brown color with a slightly sweet bouqet. Taste does not fade but lingers with a nice slightly nutty finish. Head was little light as cold bottle beer was poured into half litre glass. Expect tap beer to have a little fresher taste and finish.

Bottle poured into mug- poured transparent dark ruby brown, medium carbonation of small bubbles, off tan head formed a ring, aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, toffee, and walnuts. Hits the mouth with a defined medium body, alot of molasses hits the tongue immediately and is enjoyable, sticking elements to your mouth throughout, finish slowly fades away. Very drinkable.

12oz bottle. Aroma of toasted nuts, toffee, light caramel and a touch of earthy hops. Pours mostly brown with some light amber highlights around the edges. A tad thin and watery on the tongue with notes of lightly toasted bready malt, grassy hops, toasted nuts and a touch of vanilla. Nothing special.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nuts, toffee with some light molasses. Taste is also dominated by some nuts, light toffee with some huge caramel and molasses malt notes. I didn’t discern a large hops presence which surprises me considering this is a brewery known for their extensive use of hops. Nicely done for the style.

Pours a very light brown, almost amber, with nice carbonation and a small but creamy off white head. The nose is slightly sweet with a touch of toffee and roasted nuts. The flavor has a nice roasted maltiness following the nose perfectly. Finishes sweet and smooth. Nice beer.

Bottle, Brown pour/ slightly tan head. Malty, roasted aroma. Alot going on with this one. Flavors of Chocolate, roast, vanilla. Everything was whipped together in a good blend that was rather enjoyable.
