| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2006 The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear reddish-brown beverage with a medium sized creamy tan head that was mostly lasting and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma had a huge malt component to it mostly of the roasted variety along with a less prominent bread-like quality. There was little to no hop character to the aroma. The body was medium with smooth carbonation and a somewhat watery texture. The flavor started off slightly sweet and malty with a nice subtle hop character in the background The finish was medium in length with a nice slight bitterness to it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2006 out of the bottle. deep mahogany brown with ruby highlights. sizable off-white head and average lacing. smells strongly of roasted coffee and sweet malts, chocolate and vanilla. tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and almonds. its starts off tasting very sweet and way too roasted and finishes dry and slightly bitter. some earthiness in the finish. I thought it was pretty outstanding for a brown ale which I typically don’t like. the flavors are not well balanced but the flavors are good standing alone for a brown ale. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Pours brown with a thick tan head. Hardly any aroma to this beer, maybe a little malt, vanilla, and some caramel. The flavor of this beer is great, very well balanced and easy going, with notes of chocolate, malts, coffee, and caramel.
