COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

12oz bottle. What looks to be filtered caramel-amber-brown body. Creamy beige head, steady. Kind of nails it for the style. Cool refreshing brown malt tones, a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Maybe a pinch heavier on the specialty malts than a traditional(?) version, but pretty par for the US course. Great body, excellent example of the style.

A: Pours a two finger head over a murky black/brown body. No seeing thru this.Good retention of head of very good lacing. S: Immediate scent of cocoa and caramel. No hop in the nose T: Bittersweet chocolate upfront with a hint of sweet caramel up next. A slightest earthy hop note. Lingering toast on the finish. M: Medium to heavy bodied with a nice amount of carbonation to make it interesting. Finish lingers a bit. O: Very nice brown ale. Drinkable and not too strong. Worth buying again. One of the best browns I’ve found lately.

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. It has a subtle sweet malty aroma with hints of chocolate. Body is medium with low to moderate carbonation. Taste has chocolate, vanilla and slight coffee tones that ends with a dry, nutty, roasty finish with a mild bitterness. Haven't had too many brown ales but enjoyed this. Flavour wise this seems fairly mild of what brown ales may be.

Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby brown with tan head. Aroma notable for roast malt character with caramel and a little touch of funk. Mild flavor profile opens with tart fruit, then develops into some roast malt bitterness on the finish, notes of coffee. Thin mouthfeel. Clean tasting, easy-drinking, straightforward brown.
