3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep dark brown appearance with mininal head but great lacing.
This brew really surprised me. It was handed to me in a glass, and I was firmly convinced it was a rather low body stout. I was wrong, it was actually a brown ale. In true Avery fashion, they took a normal brown ale and went big. This was all around solid.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nutty aroma, nice sense of caramelzation. A little banana but kinda liked it. Pretty good medium carbonation. Extremely drinkable. Nothing really outstanding but good beer none the less. Would drink again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is malty without anything really standing out. It has caramel, bread, nuts, and undertones of chocolate and vanilla. Taste contains caramel and nuts with some mild chocolate. Its kind of sweet, and there is some tartness as well. Slight chocolate aftertaste. Light in body, with a thin, almost watery texture, and being about average in carbonation. This one isn’t all that special.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I would agree with the beer’s own write-up. We just find it too sweet for our tastes. Too much of that honey/molasses flavor. Too expensive for what it is as well.

Good specimen for a brown ale! Smooth, sweet, a bit nutty, malty, yum. Sweetish. Refreshing and unique.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown with fleeting loose light tan foam and evident carb with large bubbles. Smells of coffee, cocoa, some soil and leather. Some bits of tea and metal. Flavor is biscuity, chocolate, coffee, nuts, roasty malts. Much better flavor than the nose - which is bland. Medium bodied with moderate carb and a wet finish with long aftertaste. Much nicer than I had expected.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown color, a bit of light comes through the edges of the beer, with a nice tan head. Smells of malt and chocolate, the taste is pretty similar with a bit of nuttiness, reminds me more of a stout that a brown ale.
