Very dark color, medium head, nice creamy mouthfeel. I am going to start stocking this as an alternative to harsh British brown ales.

Pours clear dark ruby red color with a small lasting head. Aroma of wet cardboard, malts, some nutty notes and caramel. Flavour of dried fruits, faint resiny hops, caramel malts, nuts and some hints of toffee. Mild bitter palate, dry malty finish, medium carbonation. Not too fond of the nutty aroma but tastes ok.

A solid brown ale that’s really roasty, malty, and a comfortable amount of hop notes to balance the sweet, smooth body. Pours brown with an off-white head. Aroma is nutty, malty, and toasty. Taste is sweet malt, nutty, and a faint toasty note. Finish is balanced and lingering sweet maltiness with a slight chewiness.

Pours dark clear brown with nice foamy head. Aroma is dark malts, hops and caramel. Flavor is mostly same.

0,33l can @ Vihreä Haltiatar. Pours clear brown with a low tan head. Aroma is malts with some coffee beans. Flavor is malts, coffee beans and some hops. Not bad.

Can. Aroma has roasted barley, nuts and vanilla with dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is silky smooth, great. Flavor has sweet chocolate with roasted nuts. Aftertaste is a bit bland and watery but is otherwise well balanced and has a nice bready roasted maltiness with some malty bitterness. Great brown ale with a surprising amount of flavor. The watery mouthfeel is tolerable for the abv making this a fine brew.

355ml can, thanks Allen for the import! - pleasant enough brown ale as far as the style goes, with dominant roasted nut caramalts and a good medium mouthfeel. Stale milk chocolate notes, general subdued taste and a look at Ellie on the label could influence the more impressionable drinker into imagining that he is licking off the wet fur of a brown Labrador, though.

Can 355 ml @ Olutravintola Kukko, Kemi 11.5.2013. Clear dark brown beer with beige head. Malty aroma has roastiness nuts and coffee. Flavour is also quite malty with nuts, caramel and vanilla. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

From can. Deep brown pour with a white head. Toasted bread, caramel, hint of chocolate powder with some nuttiness. Slightly sweet flavor with breadiness,chocolate and caramel with toasted nuts. Easy drinking and one of the better browns.

355 ml can @ O’Hara’s, Tampere. Pours a dark brown colour with a white brownish head. Aroma of bread, burnt malts, metallic notes and grass. Flavour of bready malts, raisins, chocolate, nuts, grass and hay. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a malty, harsh, bitter and nutty finish. Good.

Sweet malt flavors with blends of chocolate and nuttiness. Deep dark brown with a dense cream colored foam. Bittersweet and balanced. Medium bodied with good balance and a clean finish.
