This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Can. Dark brown/red pour, light tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, light chocolate, caramel malt and faint earthy hops. Flavors of light bready/cramel malt, faint chocolate, vanilla, tinges of earthy hops. Medium/light body, malty and semi-sweet with bitter/earthy/musty undertones, malt/slightly bitter finish. Overall, great session for the cool to cold months of the year.

Aroma is molasses and a hint of wood smoke. Taste is mainly molasses, a little hint of nuts, and something else I can’t quite place. This would be great in the fall, but it’s pretty damn good right now too.

Brown pour, quick tan head. Nutty malt in the nose. Bittersweet. Middle is coffee and chocolate, roasted malt, some cherries hiding in there. Finish dries with a hint of hops at the tail. Solid American brown.

Pours a translucent copper brown from the can with thin ring of tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of nutty earth and hints of dark chocolate. Taste follows, clean and easy, lingering soy quality. Nice for the style, just not exciting.

Pour from 12oz bottle. Dark brown with thin cream colored head. Smell of chocolate coffee and alcohol. Palate smooth and light with nice flavor and finish. No real bitter end.
