vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA Jan 9, 2008 Updated: Jan 24, 2008 Pours a dark copper-brown color with a frothy tan head. Head is short lived. The aroma is not strong, but a light, sweet malt. The taste follows suit with a very slightly sweet malt flavor. There’s a light bit of roasted malt with some toffee in the background as well. A slight hop bitterness comes through in the aftertaste. This is an easy drinking beer with no over powering flavors.
DrDavid (351), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 10, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet caramel aroma. Dark reddish brown body, light brown head. Flavor is very mild, on the sweet side, with caramel and cherry. Not awful, but a bit of a disappointment. RedXIII (86), Powell, Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2008 A bold brown pour with an creamy tan head. Aroma has hints of chocolate and caramel with a sweet taste of chocolate and malt. Finish is vanilla and hops with some earthy flavor to end it.
