ChainGangGuy (1391), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 1, 2008 Updated: Jul 4, 2008Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body with one sturdy inch of off-white foam.
Smell: Predominately, it’s a nutty aroma with scents of powdered brownie mix and dark caramel.
Taste: Maltiness tasting of nuts and dark caramel with a restrained sweetness. Earthy hops with a mellow, though cleansing bitterness. Some chocolate comes online midway. Smooth finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not bad! You done good, Ellie. Who’s a good doggy? Who’s a good doggy?!? Guinness4Duff (384), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thick beige head. Roasted malt aroma with a strong earthy hop presence. Alot of sweet flavors up front with chocolate, coffee, and earthy hop tastes standing out. GMUcrew7 (140), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 27, 2008 Pours very opaque brown liquid with a strong amber hue, has a very light, beige head. Faint aroma of nuts. Flavor is a little more interesting but thats not saying a lot. Nuts and chocolate malts are noticeable. Not much body or character in this underwhelming brown ale. arventresca (114), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Jun 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours brown with tan head. Nice chocolate taste. Nice malts. Very good brown. Gotta love a brew named after a dog. A_R (267), Georgia, USA Jun 22, 2008 Nice Aroma. Good taste of caramel malts with a hop background. This is a nice and smooth beer that you could drink many of.
