Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

bottle given to me by BeerGestapo. thanks Mike. pours a cola brown with a beige head. smells of caramel and nuts. the taste is exactly like the description says and its very well balanced. very sessionable. it might not be the most complex beer in the world but it is highly enjoyable.

Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body with one sturdy inch of off-white foam. Smell: Predominately, it’s a nutty aroma with scents of powdered brownie mix and dark caramel. Taste: Maltiness tasting of nuts and dark caramel with a restrained sweetness. Earthy hops with a mellow, though cleansing bitterness. Some chocolate comes online midway. Smooth finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Not bad! You done good, Ellie. Who’s a good doggy? Who’s a good doggy?!?

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thick beige head. Roasted malt aroma with a strong earthy hop presence. Alot of sweet flavors up front with chocolate, coffee, and earthy hop tastes standing out.

Pours very opaque brown liquid with a strong amber hue, has a very light, beige head. Faint aroma of nuts. Flavor is a little more interesting but thats not saying a lot. Nuts and chocolate malts are noticeable. Not much body or character in this underwhelming brown ale.

Nice Aroma. Good taste of caramel malts with a hop background. This is a nice and smooth beer that you could drink many of.
