StFun (535), Indiana, USA Nov 28, 2008 Sparky sent this along to me as a bonus, thanks man. I was in the mood for something "different", and this fit the bill nicely. Pours a hazy orange/yellow, with some nice clouds. Nose is almost Christmas-y, spice, figs, plums, yeast, gingerbread, and clove. Dry finish with a nice mouthfeel. Flavor is solid for a farmhouse, the cheesecloth and funk take a backseat to the spice, but it didn’t bother me any. The dark fruit and spice work well together, and the christmas flavors work as balance. This one is underrated, I wouldn’t mind having one to age. verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 28, 2008 Poured a gold body with strong white head. Aroma is pleasantly funky. A bit of a letdown upon the first sip. Seems like a mess of fruit, spices, sugar. Just way too busy. onecrazybreeze (21), , Colorado, USA Nov 20, 2008 22oz Bomber. Poured gold with white head. Smelled funky, yeasty and figs. Tasted slightly sour with a strong fig and spice combination. I didn’t think it was as bad as people say it was, just really not my cup of tea. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Nov 16, 2008 It’s golden with a white, creamy head. The aroma is sharp, spicy with notes of barnyard, yeast and light fruit. The flavour has sweetness and notes of fruit, barnyard, caramel, spice, figs and it’s complex and interesting. It ends on a sweet, dry and spicy note, and the brett is on an OK level for me. nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 31, 2008 22oz bomber bottle. I’ve enjoyed the Avery Anniversary series from 10 up, 14 being my favorite thus far. I think this one is vastly underrated. Hazy golden-orange color. Pepper and Brett aroma. Complex herbal and fruit flavors amidst the mild sourness. Relatively thin on the palate, very refreshing dry finish. The figs work really well with the Brett taste. Good stuff. Not unlike a Stille Nacht in terms of fruitiness. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Oct 29, 2008 65 cl bottle at Skallerup Klit. Hazy orange brown color, fine white head. Aroma is very strong with dried fruit, citrus, figs - almost rotten, but not bad... Flavor is fruity, spicy with fine carbonation. A very special ale. allfreej (358), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottled. Frothy white head, good lace, hazy yellow pour. Lemon, dough, and a little barnyard in flavor and aroma. Medium bodied with a pleasingly dry finish. I think Avery did a great job with this one and was surprised it’s percentile was so low. I thought it was quite excellent. lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Oct 25, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Bottled in April 2008. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a huge and fluffy off-white head. A somewhat funky, sweetly floral aroma that features some lemons, pepper, Golden Delicious apples, hints of alcohol and that distinctive Brett smell. Medium body. Sweet and tangy upfront with lots of tart apples and a little citrus. Pepper and spices at the mildly dry end.
