rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 2, 2008 Pours a golden brownish colorwitha nice white head. Aroma is sour, pepper, yeast, flora notes and a pungent sulfurl. Flavor is a little sour bretty/ funky, figs, hibiscus, malt, coriander, yeast. Initially I got a bit of undesirable rotten-egg / sulphur off of this one but as I let it sit and warm it seems to haver tapered off. A very strange experiment from Avery and I’m not quite sure it turned out as expected but it was still interesting to try. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Oct 1, 2008 This is a strange brew to say the least. The head is quickly gone and it has nothing but a light coppery body beneath it. Pretty light aroma, but there are some flowers there. Fig, pepper, and flowers... what is advertised is there, but in very strange proportions. Not really well balanced in my opinion. Almost champagne like in texture and little bit in taste. Dry at some points. Interesting wouldn’t be saying enough and strange might be the way to describe it. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 30, 2008 Updated: Oct 1, 2008Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Almost clear deep golden, small head. Interesting Orvalish aromna of yeast, orange and hay - Brett is evident. Medium sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. There are alomndy caramal and citric tartness as well as light piney bitterness. Very similar to Mikkeller IT’S ALIVE, but more citric. Really good, but for Orval class softer malt and even more depth must be added. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 29, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Masterly brettanomyces spreads throughout the floral hibiscus and sweet cereals in this very approachable and almost crisp Wild Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy straw blond.
-That brettanomyces continues all the way to the finish.
-The cereals are quite chewy yet do not hinder drinkability.
-There are lots of ingredients to be getting such a delicate and straightforward result, but in any case, this is beautifully drinkable and very pleasant.

Bottle./b> explosivebeer (36), Washington, USA Sep 29, 2008 This beer has a light hazy orange color and a thin head. The aroma has sour cherry, spice, and fig notes present. It has a light body with a relatively clean finish and subtle malt and figs. Svesse (2601), Hässelby, Sweden Sep 29, 2008 (Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with brief, white head. Citric, yeasty, fruity nose with orange, spices, hints of brett (or maybe old socks) and a touch of dry sherry. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of orange peel, Seville orange, coriander (or was that the hibiscus flowers?), hints of yeast and a fairly dry, spicy finish. Complex and rather different beer leaning in a slightly orvalish direction. Nice one. stobbe74 (662), Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Bottle, 65cl. Pours a hazy, unclear beer with a white head. The aroma has clearly brett and some sweetness and hops. The flavor is malt, brett and some sourness. The mouthfeel is bold. Overall a complex and interesting beer. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 (Bottle 65 cl) Clear golden with a small off-white head. The aroma is dominated by very dry Brett accents. Surprisingly light-bodied with light malt and fruit notes and then again these extremely dry and lightly astringent Brett accents. No real bitterness as such. Quite interesting. 210908
