Commercial Description:
15 years of brewing! You know what’s been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we’ve been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it’s tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we’ve created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

Bottle at EBF08. Citric and funky aroma. Muddy yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is nicely citric, good and funky, slightly sour. Hint of orange and yeast.

Bottle @ EBF, 2008, Carlsberg.
Pours piss-yellow with no head. Super aroma, good funkiness, oranges, apples, cider tones, vinegar. Okay, rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is uninspiring, sweet, light tart, some apples.

Bottle. Translucent golden pour with a small white head. Nose is sour fruits, soft spices, wild yeast, and sweat and leather. Taste is also tart fruits, ripe fruits, spices, funky yeast notes, sweet malts, leather, sweat and flowers. The body on this one has a light-medium overall feel with a light dryness and a soft, bubbly carbonation. The finish brings out more flowers, soft alcohol, spices, funky yeast, sweet malts, ripe and sour fruits and leather. Not as bad as the ratings let on.

Pours a hazy cloudy gold color, with a medium white head. Smells of some earth, spice, little candy sugar, and citrus fruit mixed. Not a bad aroma. The flavor was a little confused for my taste. It kind of was all over the place. One minute its spicy, the next its sweet, the next its funky, really had no flow to it. I didnt hate it, but wouldnt reach for another bottle again really. Just seems like another disappointing Ameerican try at a Belgian style ale. I really have been enjoying their anniversary beers, so this was a let down for me.

Bottle. Full or earth floral tones that overpower and do not complement each other. Just not very good and I was unable to finish.

Pale apple juice color, foamy thick head. Prominent bretty aroma, some fruitiness and sour nail polish notes. Flavor is light and airy at first, tart and metallic but ultimately chock-full of phenolics. Overwhelmingly full of band-aids. Fruity ones, but band-aids nonetheless. Finishes with light bitterness, a little tartness and more massive phenols. Not my thing at all. Strange mouthfeel at the end.
