| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a small, frothy white head. Aroma of dry toasty biscuity malts and grassy hay with a touch of cheesy funk, earthy hops and floral spices. Body starts slightly effervescent and fairly full with a good light sweetness and some drier, bready, funky character toward the finish. Doesn’t have much tartness, which would give it better balance, but is still pretty complex and drinkable. jimhilt (1674), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Apple cider nose. Flavor is almost sweet cider, figs are hidden, tart finish. $9.49 for a 22oz bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma. Bottled Apr 2008. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Aroma of sour citrus fruits, notably lemon, some pineapple funk, more sour fruits. Flavor continues along the same line until some odd oaky sweetness and some melon rind come into play. Still though, lots of good stuff going on in there, I’m rather shocked by just how low the ratings are. polomagnifico (533), Saginaw, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of port-a-potty, yeast, and spice. Medium gold hue with a very large mostly lasting head that left great lace. Flavor is sweet, sour and spicy with malt, yeast, and caramel malts. Palate is lively and medium bodied. Not bad but was hoping for something a little more interesting than just another Belgian. Taverner (837), San Ramon, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2008 On tap at the Trappist. Very nice, mellow Belgian ale. You can taste the light barnyard funk in the background from the brettanomyces, but instead of a sour flavor this ale has a nice, light sweet flavor going on. Pours cloudy golden with white head. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to start getting into sours. pantanap (1336), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2008 On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a light orange with no head. Aroma of sour fruits, citrus, and oak. Flavor of citrus (orange specifically), banana, light melon, slight tartness, oak. Fruity-ish and sweet, kind of like Russian River sours but sweeter (and not as good...) Weird sourness but certainly drinkable. Interesting wild ale, to say the least. But I did enjoy it. Should age well too. Sammy (3977), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Well, a wild ale is a good description of this below-average saison. The horse smell was an impediment to enjoyment. It is however easy drinking and there is some mild spice in the aroma. Bottled in April - I cannot say in two years the aroma will dissipitate, bit perhaps the taste will be more interesting.
