BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle Pours out a hazy gold topped with a white head. At first sniff i thoughtt i was in a port-a-potty. After aonther try I picked up some sweet fruit. Tast of sour pit fuit. Not to good. This was a let down from Avery. smith4498 (829), Miami, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 Pours golden orange with white head. Aromas of brett and sweet fruits. Slightly sweet flavor with some fig, citrus and brett funk. Light to medium body with lively carbonation and a dry finish. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 14, 2008 Updated: Aug 30, 2008I am surprised by the percentile rating. Anyway happily purchased the bomber. I think one of my favorite things about buying from craft brewers is reading a detailed description (also like stone’s). Pours a dark copper color with a small head. A yeasty, sourish aroma. Heavily carbonated with a citrusy, slightly sweet taste with a sour finish. This beer is for people who want to be of snob status and like sours but cannot fully appreciate the taste. Just enough sour to have pride in your highly evolved palate while be very drinkable beer with subtle and complex flavors. darn1207 (529), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2008 on tap. cloudy golden pour with smallish white head. sweet bready aroma with some spices. medium bodied. fig and fruit flavors. earthy spice fruitiness on the dry finish. enjoyable enough. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Orange pour with a giant fluffy white head that lasted forever. Aroma is funky and orange. Flavor is fruty and funky. Lots of different flavors through out. Pretty refreshing. Not bad. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2008 On tap at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a cloudy mango color, with very creamy lacing and a big fluffy white head. Aroma is fairly tart, with a healthy malty backing, some citrus and mango. Flavor is bretty and funky, with wheat and some malt in the finish. Fairly drinkable, but doesn’t warm up very well at all. Dry, big bretty finish. illinismitty (1790), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle from Foodery II in Philly, and I paid way too much. I have never understood how people got "barnyard" from bretty beers. I grew up in the midwest downwind from several farms. Barnyards smell like animal shit. I have never smelled animal shit in a beer.......until now. Congratulations Avery, you have done it. Imagine a horse eating a bushel of lemons, then dropping a huge duce on some hay. That’s what this beer smells like. Yes, it’s a very unique strain alright. So it gets a 1 for the shit, 6 for the lemons with a final average of 3. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a white head. I was hoping the flavor would help this beer, but sadly it did not. This tastes like flower vase water, figs, and white pepper countered by a funky tartness. I don’t enjoy these herbally belgian beers, and this is no exception. Borderline drain pour. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a medium sized white head. Aroma of funk, tarty fruit, wheat and light spices. Taste of funk with hints of tarty fruit, wheat and spice.
