presario (2955), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 19, 2009 Big bottle. Big starting head quickly fades. Hazy dark yellow. The Flames loose game one against Chicago. Big Brett nose full of funkiness. Big Brett mouthfeel with hibiscus esthers around the edges. Big Brett bounce at the finish and then pepper at the back of the tongue in the aftertaste. Strong brett and even stronger pepper. sigma23 (217), , Maine, USA Apr 13, 2009 pours a deep copper with a medium white head. aroma is sweet, yeast, roasted malts, caramel, and fruit. drinks smooth and sweet with figs very evident up front, hibiscus sweetness also lends some spice. nice rich malts and a little citrus from hops finish this out. not something i would drink every day, but good and i would have another luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2009 Bomber. Beer is slightly cloudy, medium amber-orange colored. Head is initially large, white, frothy. Diminishes mostly but stays as a creamy frothy thin lid.
The aroma is wild, sweet, fruity. Malty with moderate notes of cookie, toasted bread, lighter note of creamy caramel; Moderate lemon zest hop flare, lighter background of herb; Moderately/heavily yeasty with Bret notes of horse blanket and barn yard, band-aid, lesser note of bubble gum; Moderately vinous with a note of dried current
The flavor is moderately acidic/juicy/dry, lightly bittersweet. The finish is moderately long, lightly acidic and trace bitter. Yeasty notes from the aroma linger back in the retronasals.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average/lively.
Plenty going on to sniff around at, but not really a stopper. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 31, 2009 I was lucky to get to try a bottle early thanks to a friend. The label says 100% brett so I was expecting some funk and was not disappointed. The color was a hazy orange with a good head. It smelled funky, some grassy hay. The first taste was very funky and strange like grilled pork-fat. That may sound weird but it was good. As it warmed it became more of a spicy saison with funk. I’ll be looking to grab a couple bottles for aging purposes.

Aroma, not much goin on here.Mild yeast and flowers. Dryish body with a slightly fruity , mostly apricot, light bodied. Not impressed. They could have done much better with an anniversary beer. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Mar 24, 2009 Clear, bright amber/gold appearance with a large white head and good lacing. Yeasty, floral aroma, full of spices and soft fruit. Sharp, biting taste, with flowers, fruit and pepper competing for attention. Light-to-medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Pepper lingers in the aftertaste. Interesting, especially the nose. CheersMate1 (770), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2009 Nice orange haze color. Translucent, with a nice fluffy white head. Very pungent yeast and fruit aroma. A nice pungent aroma. There is definitely a tart aroma. This is an extremely pungent beer. Nice aroma, but I am not a fan of the tart aroma. Very tart flavor. The fruit comes out as does the yeast flavors, but the beer just lacks a great mouthfeel. The flavors are also slightly weak. The yeast taste sticks around the longest. The funky tart taste dominates at first, but then the flavors settle in to the yeast and the fruits. I think that funky tart flavor just doesn’t do it for me. Overall, a decent Belgian ale. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Mar 22, 2009 Tap. Hazy gold pour with a lot of lace. Funky earthy aroma, with a bit of citrys. Flavor is peppery and funky, with dark fruits on the finish.
