COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
15 years of brewing! You know what’s been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we’ve been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it’s tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we’ve created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

22 oz. bottle via trade with fidelis83- thanks again, Jeremiah! Pours a cloudy gold with a volcanic eggshell white head. Aroma of dry, dusty, bretty funk, lemon citrus, candi sugar, wheat, pepper, soap, pale malts, and herbal notes. Flavor of brett and other yeast, farmhouse funk, caramel and pale malts, citrus fruits, straw, honey, pepper, cereal, and wheat. Medium-bodied, with above average carbonation and a dry, yeasty mouthfeel. Crisp, with a dry finish. Pretty interesting Belgian ale.

A bottle pulled from my cellar where it has rested for quite some time in my cellar. Opened while watching the semi finals in the european champions league - perfect time for beer. The pour is hazy deep yellow with a nice thick foamy head. looks good. The nose is pretty citric with clear belgian inspiration. There is some barnyard and hints of stables along with apples and dried fruits like plumps. When tasting the first thing that hits you is the high level of carbonation witch along with the bret gives a pretty lively feeling. The taste is nice and balanced and I quite think that it deserves more credit than givin here. Easy to drink and a taste that have a nice but low key identity. The finish is citric and alive with a faint spicy bitterness. Good

A- Pours a somewhat murky golden yellow with a small fizzy white head. Head fades immediately and no lacing is left behind in the glass. Cloudiness is somewhat thick and uniform. S- Smells great. A bit of fig comes through along with plenty of yeasty funk, and a yeasty spiciness. T- At first I loved it. Fig and a gentle fruitiness is upfront with a somewhat tart funky yeast backbone. Flavors intensify for the finish and a nice spiciness comes through along with a hint of phenolic bitterness. Mild representations of the initial flavor linger along with an alcohol warmth. After I was about halfway through the snifter the booziness really came through and overshadowed what I was loving about this beer. I also became bored with it somewhat quickly. P- Phenols come through in the mouthfeel more than the yeast. The yeast is there too though. Light body overall with soft carbonation. O- Decent beer overall-but it fell short of my expectations. It probably needs a lot more aging to resemble a wild ale...because right now its a bit too boozy and the yeast character really doesn’t come through as much as it should. Worth a try. I wouldn’t mind buying another bottle of this to cellar. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-30-2008 14:16:29

Pours hazy golden with huge white lasting head, aroma is some hibiscus, some funk, and some sweet fruit. Taste is tart fruit with some brett funk that finishes sweet. Not really sour or anything, but for $4.79 a bottle, it’s a pretty good brew!

I love sour beers of all kinds. This was not at the top of my list but for the price it is a damn good sour tasting beer. I don’t taste any figs in it though. Light refreshing and spicy. Worth a try if you really like sours.

Has a nice clean pour, with a darkish tint of brown. The taste was a little sweet but it also has a little bit of bitter notes in there as well.

Pours with a golden body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet with a light bitterness, a little sour apple and a brett funk, especially in the nose. Light to medium bodied and smooth.

(bottle - 22 oz) Hazy amber pour with a puffy white head. Aroma is sour, tart and funky with a good amount of brett, earthy notes, and dampness. Flavor is very tart and bitey. There’s some sourness from the yeast, but a bit too abrasive on the tongue. Rather cloying. Didn’t really detect any of the figs that it claimed to have. Decent, but I was expecting more.
