pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Mar 21, 2009 Really? Only a 3.19? Huh. Pours a lightly slightly hazed yellowish with a not so impressible thin white film head. The nose is bretty, very. Drier pineapple, definitely not as sweet smelling as most Avery beers. Like a low hopped Orval... but there’s something slightly peaty, or maybe that’s just antiseptic. The mouthfeel is thinner, though not watery, with low carbonation. The flavor is in line with the nose, very Bretty, perhaps a bit peaty, oddly. Fruity and dry, though not all the way dried out like this beer will be soon enough. Refreshing, slightly tart. I’d like to see how this shapes up. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Mar 20, 2009 Dark yellow colored with hazy appearance. Little white head. Rich fruity aroma with mild banana too, yeast and thin spices also here with some hops. Medium bodied. Flavor has some skunky glue note, fruity peach and sourness also here. Aftertaste dries even with slight alcohol. Well, some skunkiness distracts in aftertaste. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 18, 2009 Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours bright orange with a light white head. Smell is funky and band-aid like malt. Taste is funky, tart and bland. Medium body and carbonation. Not very good. Drinkable, but in no way enjoyable. thehoff (567), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Mar 18, 2009 Slight cold so I cannot smell that well. Perhaps some lemon zest and coriander. I think you can taste the hibiscus actually, a little tangy, dry in the finish. OK. This will do the trick after working one crazy St Patricks Day at the Union. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Mar 17, 2009 Avery Fifteen is a golden bodied, white headed farmhouse style brewed with figs, hibiscus flowers, and white pepper. Funky, fruity, sour, and bitter, it is a surprising ale with a fantastic and generous dark finish. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Mar 15, 2009 Pours golden, slightly hazy, with a large soapy white head, that dissipates quickly, leaving a little lace. Aroma is sour, tart, tangy, like champagne. Flavor is similar, but not totally sour. Has a light taste, which is slightly fruity--apples, figs. Floral aroma and taste, but very light body. nathan30533 (138), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA Mar 14, 2009 Very unique is this one. Fruity aroma and taste more then likely from the figs. Very crisp. Decent brew. Intresting. curly (548), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Mar 2, 2009 Butter’s 4th cellar reduction. Pours slightly hazy gold color with a thick white head. Berry fruit and honey aroma. Cough syrup and funky fruit taste.
