Commercial Description:
15 years of brewing! You know what’s been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we’ve been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it’s tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we’ve created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

Clear, bright amber/gold appearance with a large white head and good lacing. Yeasty, floral aroma, full of spices and soft fruit. Sharp, biting taste, with flowers, fruit and pepper competing for attention. Light-to-medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Pepper lingers in the aftertaste. Interesting, especially the nose.

Nice orange haze color. Translucent, with a nice fluffy white head. Very pungent yeast and fruit aroma. A nice pungent aroma. There is definitely a tart aroma. This is an extremely pungent beer. Nice aroma, but I am not a fan of the tart aroma. Very tart flavor. The fruit comes out as does the yeast flavors, but the beer just lacks a great mouthfeel. The flavors are also slightly weak. The yeast taste sticks around the longest. The funky tart taste dominates at first, but then the flavors settle in to the yeast and the fruits. I think that funky tart flavor just doesn’t do it for me. Overall, a decent Belgian ale.

Tap. Hazy gold pour with a lot of lace. Funky earthy aroma, with a bit of citrys. Flavor is peppery and funky, with dark fruits on the finish.

Dull golden-amber with a head that could not hold. Peachy, woody aroma with a bit of brett and a lot of fruit (mainly fig, but some plum, apricot). Palate has hints of acidity, wood, a strong fig taste, light fruit. Neat beer - it’s going to improve a lot over the next six months as the brett becomes more prominent.

Really? Only a 3.19? Huh. Pours a lightly slightly hazed yellowish with a not so impressible thin white film head. The nose is bretty, very. Drier pineapple, definitely not as sweet smelling as most Avery beers. Like a low hopped Orval... but there’s something slightly peaty, or maybe that’s just antiseptic. The mouthfeel is thinner, though not watery, with low carbonation. The flavor is in line with the nose, very Bretty, perhaps a bit peaty, oddly. Fruity and dry, though not all the way dried out like this beer will be soon enough. Refreshing, slightly tart. I’d like to see how this shapes up.

Dark yellow colored with hazy appearance. Little white head. Rich fruity aroma with mild banana too, yeast and thin spices also here with some hops. Medium bodied. Flavor has some skunky glue note, fruity peach and sourness also here. Aftertaste dries even with slight alcohol. Well, some skunkiness distracts in aftertaste.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours bright orange with a light white head. Smell is funky and band-aid like malt. Taste is funky, tart and bland. Medium body and carbonation. Not very good. Drinkable, but in no way enjoyable.

Slight cold so I cannot smell that well. Perhaps some lemon zest and coriander. I think you can taste the hibiscus actually, a little tangy, dry in the finish. OK. This will do the trick after working one crazy St Patricks Day at the Union.
