Commercial Description:
15 years of brewing! You know what's been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we've been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it's tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we've created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

Probably the most subtle of the Avery anniversary series that I have had. A definite herbal/floral essence is noticeable. Poured cloudy orange with a quickly fading head. But you know what this reminded me of most? The one and only Sahti that I have had- lots of lactose/citrus notes and the mouthfeel was really nice- almost milk-like in it’s viscosity.

Pours cloudy gold with a medium head. Aroma is slightly sour and fruity. Mouth feel is a bit thin, but there is a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is tart fruit, a bit of spice and a lot of earthy funk. The finish is surprisingly dry. An interesting attempt, but more like a failed experiment than a breakout new beer.

Pours hazy dull deep gold with 1-finger white head. Nose is florals, fig, rock sugary malt, berries, white pepper, hops. Tastes fruity, with berry notes, plus candi sugary malt, hops, funk, florals. This one is a bit of a mishmash, but points for originality. With age, I think this should improve tangibly.

Golden pour with a decent white head. Aroma is a little tart and fruity but not very bold. The flavor is pretty bad. Thin and sour up front with an offensive soapy taste and some fig notes tacked on at the end as a final insulting parting shot.

Quite tasty and unique...love the souring of the brett (a flavor I am beginning to appreciate). Honey gold in color with a 1/4 inch tight white head. The aroma is filled with citrus, pepper, and funk. The tartness is a refreshing addition to summer.

Tap @ Hamilton’s. I shared this with a friend and it ended up better than I expected. Though it had way too much spice for me.
