COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

bottled in 2007.
pours dark with a red tint when held up to the light, medium size tan head that dissipates slowly leaving a very nice lacing.
smell is of prunes, figs, cocoa, some caramel, some malts, slight hint of roasted nuts.
taste is thick and creamy, dark and bitter chocolate, dark fruits, some caramel, some sweet malts, a little white pepper in the back.

22oz bottle: Deep, dark brown pour with a thick and lasting mocha colored head. The nose offers a fantastic balance of citrusy hops, caramelized malts and sublte oxidation. Thick, chewy body offers an array of aged malt. Notes of burnt caramel, cookie dough, fresh dough, brownie batter and honey. A splash of orange and grapefruit hops balance the sugary malts. The bitterness is subdued, but the balance is there and this drinks really well. Oxidation is starting to become apparent, but it adds to the overall complexity.

Dark brown in color with a very lage, light brown head with good lacing. The aroma is of hops, citrus and dark fruits (dates and plums.) The flavor is somewhat friuty with a strong overtone of hops and a hint of apricots; bitter throughout. Not quite my favorite, but overall is a very enjoyable beer

2007 Bottle (bought at Wallys). Pours with a large, frothy, lighjt brown head. Aroma of candi sugar, darek fruits, dates, spices, light chocolate malts, and some hops. Taste is sweet, with dark fruits, and some apricots. Good stuff. Smooth mouthfeel with light bubbles.

Bottle: Ruby amber in color with a two-finger tan head...sweet caramel, figs, raisins and dark malts rule the nose, no hop notes were present as I kinda expected. Very english barleywine-ish. Viscous, sticky body...again, sweet dark malts, bread dough and earthy esters are present in the flavor. This was quite good.

Pretty beer. Deep dark reddish-brown. Almost opaque but not. Big tan honeycomb-like head with lots of air pockets. Rich balanced big aroma, jam-packed. In addition to jam are minterals and earth. Yummy balance of flavors. Dark malt is excellent complement for the hop, which does not overpower. A little rummy but the alcohol is well disguised. Sweetness from the malt tapers to a dry but not bitter finish. Jammy, roasty at times, with burnt cookie, molasses, and prune. I like this one.

Bottle. Nice hopped aroma with a light roasted note. Very deep brown chestnut color with a large beige head. Full roasted body with hints of burned caramel and coffee. Nice hopped palate with a nicely balanced bitterness. Very nice.

Pours a deep brown color, almost looks black with amber accents. Nice foamy tan head and some impressive lacing. Aroma is lots of caramel then some molasses and a slight scent of fruity hops. Rich flavors, heavy on the malts, roasted and doughy malts, caramel, butter (diacetyl?) and the dry hopping in the finish with a touch of fruit. I honestly can’t decide if I liked this or not. The first couple of sips I didn’t like it but then it kind of grew on me but something always seemed a little off. It wasn’t at all alcoholic, that was hidden quite well. The bottle has been aged a year now so maybe that played a part.
