COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, nut, spice hop zest. Thick cream, roast, ginger, choc., pine, molasses, and alcohol taste. Very thick and balanced all taste buds are affected.

Bottle sampled. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, roasted nuts yeast, and some spices. Flavor is caramel, light fruit, molasses, and a hint of smoke with a lingering bitter finish.

Dark brown, nearly black, monstrous 3 finger spongy head. Smells strong of ashy smoke. The creamy head is a great initial buffer for the syrupy fig, raisin, and bourbon flavors. The finish starts sweet and ends with the sting of warm alcohol. You can feel it in your chest.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 The aroma holds chocolate, bubblegum, candy sugar, molasses and lots of other vaguely toasty and sweet things I can’t pin down. The body is brown to black and holds a two finger thick, lasting, tan head that is craggy and fluffy atop. Burnt brown sugar and molasses in the fore gives it a bitter and sweet note. The middle is huge with sweet molasses and chocolate. Massive malts and lightly hot alcohol notes. Hints of licorice and brown sugar in the finish. Very nice beer!

Sweet. Malty. Pours a thick head. The taste is hard to pin down. American Strong? Maybe. But nothing like other strong ales out there. Caramel and a bit of chocolate for sure. Nice dark taste. My sister hooked me p with this one. Much thanks.

Poured a very scary looking watery deep dark brown with a creamy, lacing light brown head. Aroma is very interesting, I expected more of a floral, citrus nose and what I found was a nose more like a Abbey Triple with yeast and medicine at the front with pine and grapefruit in the background. Flavor crazy, all over the place. When it hits the tongue you get heavy malt and fruit (grapes, apples, oranges). Then as it envelopes the tongue you get a barley wine type flavor with heat, alcohol, candy and yeast like a Belgian. Finish is slightly syrupy, slightly astringent but very drinkable. This was very unique and a cornucopia of flavors.

Draft @ NYC Gingerman - Deep reddish brown, creamy tan head (great lacing). The aromas were complex with notes of melon, chocolate mint, and brown sugar. Further warming brought soft co-mingled notes of pine, florals, and candied dark fruits. Toasty flavors of caramel, melon, fig, and raisin balance on a piney hop wave. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Love to see creative brewing, and this one certainly hits that mark. Nicely done. Happy 14th Avery!

Bottle. Dark brown-ruby body with a large frothy yellowish-white head and oily lace. The aroma has plenty of fruits - orange, pineapple, and some sweet bread. Oily palate with chewy hops and bitter oranges. Not overly bitter though and finishing with pineyness. Pretty good but I didn’t find it to have much complexity.
