COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Clear darker brown pour with ruby redness. Thick tan head. Heavy aroma of malt and molasses, toffee, sugar, hops, and a bit of fruit. Complex taste. Malt and sugar up front, very reminiscent of a tripel. Fruits and bread in the middle, with some cherry and tobacco. It lingers for a bit before the dryness of the hops kick in. Some smoke and metal with the hops, and a semi-dry finish. I’ve never had anything like this before.

Looking forward to this for sum time after speaking with Avery..

.Pours the brownest of the browns..

.has at least a 2-3 finger power coppertone head.

..smell is actually quite similar to bigfoot but with a lighter burnt fruit smell profile.

..Taste is of smoke, fig, plum, bitter coffee, lots of dark oddland fruits- interesting to say the least.

..Very enjoyable..

.Smooth as silk, and the alcohol is sooo well masked!.

I think this is worthy of an anniversary brew!

I was rather surprised by this beer: the "strong ale" category is a mile wide but is usually pretty hoppy, and this beer is more grapey and Belgian tasting than American strong ale hoppiness. The beer pours a dark red-brown with a sweet malty dry roastiness in its aroma which was extremely pleasant. The flavor is big and sticky with a grapey mouthfeel upfront which transitions to a chocolate-y roastiness at the rather dry finish. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth. This beer is delightful.

Brown of color with a brown head. An aroma with raisins, hops, metallic notes, nuts, spice, chocolate, hints of liqurice and sweet malty notes. A flavor of chocolate, liqurice, nuts, spice and malty notes.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2007 Intriguing nose right out of the bottle!. Near black pour with deep, garnet highlights and a head that seems to keep growing as it sits. Head is beige-tan, very full, and creamy, rootbeer float-like; lasting ability is tremendous and lacing is sporatic. Nose is one of the more interesting things I’ve ever smelled; pine resins catch the nose first with what seems to be an estery grapefruit note. Other notes include hazlenut, figs, molasses, light roast, some floral aftertones, and light yeast; so many flavors not usually found in one beer. Flavor is nice but doesn’t match the nose; so many flavors to list, anise, hazlenut, cocoa, dark chocolate, light roast, some molasses, light fig, and all surrounded by pine resins. Palate is medium-full, moderate carbonation, and velvety. Finish is a bit distracting, a little chalky and dry, dark chocolate, and zesty, bitter resins with some lingering floral notes and moderate warmth. I don’t even know where to start with this one, so many different things going on. Style... imperial porter, IIPA, and a Belgian strong thrown in for good measure. Chaulky notes really kill what could have been something extraordinary, but that being said, it was a nice twist on American brewing.

I swear this beer was a chocolate IPA, with a twist of dried fruit. This a complex beer with a hoppy dry finish. I liked it very much
