COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

22 oz. brown, bomber bottle. 2007 batch. Poured out a deep ruby color, with an overflowing mocha colored head. Huge, sticky, very lacy head on it. Aromas are of cocoa powder right off the bat, along with subtle alcohols, dark rum, subtle hop aromas. Flavors are of dark rum, sweet malts, hops, burnt sugar, toffee. Sharp finish to it. Slight chocolate wheat flavor in the mix. Medium mouthfeel, rich & thick body. Good beer overall.

Pours out a nice deep reddish black color with a beige lacing. aroma is full of roasted malt, fruitiness and sweetness. flavor is very nice. has a lot of malt and a nice sweetness and hop balance. the alcohol was present in the finish. gave it a nice warming effect. overall this is a great brew.

pours almost black with a large tan head. Aroma is huge on malt, caramel, with some definite sweetness, perhaps dark fruit. Flavor is very good- malts and alcohol dominate, with some notes of caramel, bitter chocolate, and cane sugar. Mouthfeel is a little light which detracts a bit from its overall score, but still a fine ASA.

22oz bomber proportioned in a snifter. Pours dark reddish brown with thick beige head initially with some longevity finishing as a thin film throughout the glass. Honey, hops, and dark fruit, possibly metallic aroma. Taste of dark fruit with brown sugar and nice hop finish. I think I like Stone 11th better, but this is very nice.

Bottle. Poured an opaque, deep brown almost black with a slight dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits. Taste of chocolate, molasses, raisins, prunes, a faint hop presence. A complex arrangement of flavors. Sweet and rich mouthfeel. I really liked this one.

Draught at Avery. Dark brown almost black with medium tan head. Aroma is spicy sweet with hints of molasses and deep caramel malt, nice pungent hop profile. Taste has strong hop presence with rich malty dried fruit at backend. Medium sweetness at start. Hints of chocolate. Medium bodied but hearty. Awesome brew.

oobawa (549) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2011
Pours dark, dark brown and thick and chewy and hazy and very, very inviting. The head is frothy but restrained, with some lacing as it fades. Smells like tea and chocolate and caramel, begging you to take a sip. Tastes immediately sweet in a rush of toffee and sweet tea, yet then grows mildly fruity and bitter. The citric hops show up on the moderately bitter, clingy finish, providing a nice balance to the unending malt sweetness. Gets a little much as it warms, but still a nice bottle. (5/1/09)

Clear brown with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and rather hoppy - grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Very nice. 170609
