COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

My first thought with my first sip was: "What an interesting and strange brew!" A lot of the flavors I just can’t put my finger on. Is it rye? The molasses is definetly there - a strong wheatiness and pleasant hoppiness. It really tastes pretty strong. Not much sweetness - in fact, pretty dry finish. There are pleasant cocoa-notes that you pick up here and there. Good.

Bottle: Copper mahogany, nose of light spice, ethanol and cinnamon/allspice. Nice floral malty notes. The finish is smooth, creamy, and a bit brash.

Poured a deep reddish brown color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, floral hops, light toffee malts, some caramel, with spices, and a bit of fresh baked bread. Taste of nuts, molasses, nougat, anise, caramel malts, roast, a bit of chocolate, light tobacco, citrus, pine, moderate bitterness, and some oxidized cardboard already present.

Bottled. POurs out in a very hazy brown colour with a steady tan-coloured head. Malty aroma of cocoa, nuts and milky chocolte with piney undertones. Full flavour of roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa and oranges with flowery and grpafruity notes. Full but not so chewy body. Cocoa, flowers and graspfruit in the finish.

Papsoe (21781) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2007
(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a beautiful, warm chestnut brown with a tint of red and a dense, beige head leaving some laces. The aroma is rich with sweetish, burned caramel. Quite a full body with about a ton of roasted malt and and again these accents of sweetish, burned caramel. Solid if not exactly overwhelming bitterness. 150807

Bottle thanks to Jens, rbesg07. Aroma has lots of pine, quite a bit of fruity yeast and balancing caramalt. Taste is similar syrupy malt character with piny forest hops balancing.

Bottle from Capones sampled with Mad_indian. Pours dark with a small beige head. Aroma of fruit, roast, spices, alcohol, and hops. The flavor is smooth, spices, fruit, roast, some chocolate, and grassy hop finish.

Dark pour, nice head and lots of lacing. Aroma of malt balls and dark fruit leapt from the bottle, before the pour, from a foot away. The flavor was rich and complex. Chocolate, coffee, raisins, molasses all present to give this beer the richness of a fine dessert. A little heavy on the raisin/fig, which I’m not overly fond of. Enjoyable, nonetheless.
