UPDATED: JUN 16, 2008 Bomber. Very dark brown beer that is tried this again recently, still a nice drinker, but nothign too special. nearly black. There is some light brownish red at the edges with a light uellowish head on top. The aroma has some rich caramel and booze. There is also some chocolate covered cherries. The taste is dark chocolate covered cherries with some rum. There are prunes and some light tobacco notes. Surprisingly good and this approaches a stout.

Dark ruby, nearly black pour, with some large chunks of sediment, and a frothy, well-sustained tan head - kind of perfume-like floral aroma, with peppery hops, light roast, and an almost peaty quality - lightly tart flavor, with some moderate balancing sweetness, mostly in the form of a molasses flavor - notes of fig and plum - some herbal and floral notes mix well with a spicy hop flavor - a bit of maple syrup and roasted/coffee flavors - an almost belgian fruitiness crops up as the beer warms - some faint plastic notes detract a bit from the enjoyment, but it isn’t consistently perceptible - a unique beer, and one of the best Avery beers I’ve had in a long time.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2008
Dark mahogany with a red hue and a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness, malt, caramel, fruit and hops. The flavour is sweetish but with a nice hoppyness and a surprisingly nice bitterness. It has notes of malt, fruit, grapefruit, hops and the finish is dry. IMO a tiny bit out of balance, but it is a very nice beer! Thank you so much Tom/After4ever!!

dark, almost black, with a large creamy tan head. aroma is very belgian with yeast, candy sugar, alcohol, hops, fruit cake, licorice. lots of scents to decipher. flavor introduces the dark quality with some chocolate and molasses but its still very deceiving. lots of belgian qualities with candy sugar and the yeast. lots of licorice and hops. also quite a heavy pounding of alcohol. lots of 2ipa qualities. what the hell is this?? a cross between and 2ipa and a belgian strong?

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2009 In short: A very fruity and very hoppy (floral) big dark ale. Could almost be called an Imperial India Dark Ale. Very good.
How: Bottle 22oz. Many times.
The look: Dark brown body with a medium beige head.
In long: Medium roastiness level, cake malts, rich caramel, lots of dark fruits (raisins, figs and such), flower petal juice, some alcohol presence, tasty bitterness. Very good. Yet another big american IPA part of this new trend of India Dark Ale except that this one is very over-the-top. Following a new trend and having an attitude… that’s what happens when you’re Fourteen.
