frylock (952), Buffalo, New York, USA Apr 30, 2008 Very dark mahogany color that lets just a little light through. Thick, rocky tan head that leaves plenty of lace behind. Interesting aroma, toasty/roasted malts with undertones of cocoa powder and caramel are predominant with piney hops in the background. Buttery caramel flavors fade into grapefruit zest and a lingering pine/spruce bitterness. Aroma alludes to more maltiness than what is actually tasted. Flavor is definitely dominated by hops.
danielcurtis81 (122), San Diego, California, USA Oct 13, 2008 Getting my notebook online. Bottle. Pours dark brown. Lots of sweet fruits on the nose. Different brew lots of malts. chicagodri (553), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 They weren’t kidding about massive maltiness. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Malt dominates the aroma with some dark fruit, I didn’t sense as much hops, but it is an older bottle. Malty throughout and it was a little creamy as well. Decent brew, almost a little too sweet for me. Ramenen (351), San Salvador, El Salvador Oct 7, 2008 Thanks to Pollo. Pours a dark brown color with creamy head. Medium to heavy bodied.
