COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Appearance: Pours a clear dark amber with a big foamy beige head. The head subsides to a good 1/2 inch of foam, and leaves webby lacing behind. Aroma: Piney resinous hops, spicy malt and and red berry. Taste: Alcohol, abrasive piney hops, sticky caramel. Mouthfeel: Thin for such a big beer and sticky. Overall: A really fresh hoppy as hell barleywine. I would compare this to a fresh Bigfoot, although not as much toffee.

Aroma. Super Hoppy, lots of flavor with the first sip. Your palate adjusts as you sip through, getting a caramel and even malty backbone taste. Incredible for a beer with that many IBUs.

Aroma - Hops! The aroma is so over powered by hops as to not allow the nose any room for exploring. Has a distinct leathery odor to it accompanied by what can only be described as a moldy basement-like aroma. Strong alcohol, typical for a barley wine. Appearance - Amber, little hazy, creamy head Taste - Tastes like it smells, lots of hops with an earthy quality to it. Palate - Has a sticky, almost chewy quality to it with an astringent finish. Overall - Certainly not a beer we would try again but in its defense barley wines are not a preferred style of ours.

Bottle. Poured a reddish brown with a little, White head. Left no lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma was malts, caramel, and some mild hops. Flavor was sweeter with some bitters in the after taste. Very malty. A good beer. Would get again. Maltly back bone. Oilly finish. Very thick. Good beer though.

Takeaway bottle as suggested by the Beer Nazi at Stuffed Sandwich (San Gabriel, CA). Pours deep amber with appreciable off-white/tan head. Malty with spicy C hop aroma. Oily texture with well balanced bitterness. Satisfying complex finish. After drinking I was well on my way to Hog Heaven..
