| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2008 Pours dark brown; gigantic, light brown head that just never quits; ridiculous foamy lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, sweet malts, piney hops, and some alcohol. Flavor sweet malty but the piney hops really kill this; caramel; notable alchol in the finish and exhale. Slick, silky mouthfeel; moderately sticky. I typically love this style, but the hops are just -ridiculous-, even having aged this for a year in the cellar. nimrod (53), USA

Slightly translucent amber pour with foamy white head that dissipated quickly. Hoppy, citrus, and toasted caramel aroma. Sweet malt combined with bitter hops that lingers on your palate. Very good barleywine. GG (1617), NorCal, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2008 I’ve had several chances to buy this beer, but never did. Don’t know why, so one trip to the store and a few dollars lighter...voila. Got the bottle chilled and went to town. I was glad I did, because this was a really nice barleywine. Sweet, hoppy, boozy all at the same time.
The beer pours out a reddish/amber color, mostly transparent with a nice thick off-white head that had some staying power. Aroma was juicy grapefruit/citrusy, piney hops and sweet malts really meld well together. There was just a hint of alcohol in the nose too. Flavor was hops, hops and more hops. Sweet caramel-like hops kept things from going too far overboard, alcohol-like finish with sticky mouthfeel. Very Bigfoot like I thought. Delicious." General66 (167), Streator, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2008 22 ounce bottle shared with Illini08 and nimrod. Pours a deep amber color with a small white head that disappears quickly. I let this one warm up quite a bit before smelling it. When I did I was hit with a lot of hops, caramel malts, and some citrus fruits. The taste was dominated by a strong hop character with hints of suggary malts and a bitter aftertaste. Of the barleywines that I have had, this is probably my favorite so far. I am looking forward to trying some of my other BW’s that I have aging... fg8080 (37), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with caramel, hops and fruits. Sweet and hoppy flavor with caramel, fruits and toasted malt. Ends bitter. Cletus (5051), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2008 2005? bottle Pours amber with a thin white head. Even with some cellaring, the first thing I noticed about this beer was an intensely resiny hoppy aroma, followed by lots of sweet caramelly malt. Tastes of sweet malt, lots of bitterness is there, some resiny chewy hoppy hints. This reminds me more of a cellared IIPA than a barleywine.
