| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Sampled on tap. Pours a clear amber color with some offwhite head and a bit of lacing. Smell is big and vibrant fresh and awesomely fruity hops with notes of juicy apricot like hop aromas. Taste is blanced and nicely hopped but with a caramelly sweet maltiness and a hint of alcohol as well. Ridiculously smooth and easy to drink for a barley wine. Slightly viscous body, and a fantastic smooth example of the style. Great beer. rocbyter (909), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Poured from a 22-oz bottle a bronze color with a reddish-tint. Strong odor of alcohol along with citrus hops. Taste was a harsh bitterness. Very hoppy with strong presence of alcohol. Some malt sweetness was in the finish, but it didn’t really balance out the bitterness. HopheadHans (755), Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Bottle. Nice IPA or double IPA., no idea why it is called a barley wine. This thing has agressive hops aromas as well as aggressive piney hop flavors. There is some fruitiness as well and some caramel but predominantly there is hops.
