Commercial Description:
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover's delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

I’m not good enough to rate this beer. Rather rude, will not purchase again. taste of soap and turpentine. No detectable carbonation. Thick and syrupy. Orange color with a nice creamy retaining head. Mild hop aroma with pine and spruce floral hops. Not as enjoyable as Rock Art Ridge Runner Ale. About on par with Ottos Old Fugget Barleywine and North Country Embalmer or any decent BW.

On draft at the 2007 Pizza Port Strong ale fest, on cask. Dark amber pour with an off white head. The aroma is a beautiful bouquet of hops. The flavor is very hoppy for a barleywine, with a slightly malty finish.

Lots of hoppy for a barley wine, but the maltiness comes thru. Nice, but not great

PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Cask, Pours copper with a tan head. Nose is huge, big big big hops. Taste is very hoppy, very nice, big barleywine. Although its in that weird DIPA Barleywine hybrid zone.

22 oz bomber. Pours cloudy orange amber with a little white puffy head. The aroma is sweet and more hoppy then I would expect. The taste is very full and sweet and extremely hoppy for a barley wine. I’m not saying thats a bad thing but it is not at all what I expected from this beer. This is like an IPA Barley Wine hybrid, it doesn’t really fit perfectly into either category. Its tasty but strange all at once.

hazy amber/brown color. Aroma is full of hops, and minimal malt with a touch of caramel. Flavour is super hoppy. The alcohol is hidden quite well. Finish is quite bitter. There isnt much malt in here that i can tatse, it’s more of a super hoppy barley wine. This seems to be another beer that blurs the lines between Double IPA, and Barley wine, just like Founders Devil Dancer. Still an excellent beer. For someone who loves hoppy beers, this is a treat. I find it to be very very smooth, and super easy to drink. I’m finding myself take big gulps, something i wouldnt do with a robust barley wine.

bomber poured a hazy orange amber in color with good carbonation and a one finger white head on the top. aroma of malt, sweetness, hops, and citrus. taste of malt, heavy hops, slightly sweet, and finishes somewhat creamy with some hop bite. knew going in from the 100 ibu’s this was gonna be a good one, not as overpowering as i would have thought, alcohol level is perfect for the brew, and the balance of sweet malt against the hops is fantastic. really a fan of avery but this one puts me in hog heaven.

Hazy orange with a medium white head. Tones of fruit and hops. Apricots, malt and lots of hops. Full body with a bittersweet aftertaste.

Bottle. Pour is a clear dark amber with a thin white head, plenty lacing. Nose of caramel sweet malts and floral hops Taste is malty with a piney hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation. Finish is warm with light alchol. A good BW.
