Nice caramel, hoppy aroma with some orange. Taste is well balanced malty hops with some citrus. Slightly bitter finish with orange peel. Minor alcohol taste. You really have to look for it. Really great beer.

Bottle, 650ml. A cloudy dark amber beer with a small head. Aroma is of wood, spices, chestnuts and alcohol. Taste is bitter with faint carbonation and some astrigency. Heavy and with a strong floral alcoholic finish. Feels somewhat rusty, but it is very nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 65cl. Deep reddish with a creamy tan head with nice lacing. Hoppy barleywine aromas: floral hops, dried fruits, roasted caramel, alcohol. Medium to robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Medium sweet, heavy bitter. Fiery roasted and hoppy character into a stinging bitter and alcohol finish. Complex and delicious.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. The color of the pour is a lovely looking reddish-amber with a long lasting white head. It never really fades. The aroma is barley grain, sweet malts, tobacco, earth, and a fairly low booze profile. The body is full. The taste brings out those same sweet caramel malt and barley grain characters with a moderate dry finish. This one would be just as good a year or two from now.

Poured into large snifter. Nice medium head with light with caramel tones. Light hazy appearance. Color is a reddish golden with a hue of apricot jam in the refracted light.
Now for the aroma. Initial fruity sweet notes of tropical pineapple and guava, but strong grapefruit and resinous scents of cedar in this beer. Hints of pepper, eucalyptus or mint in there and some bread and yeast.
This beer is full bodied and has significant mouth-feel with each sip. It’s plenty bitter, but is offset with with enough sweetness and a twinge of tart. It ends on a bitter note, having a long finish with lingering flavors of maltiness.
Unlike the last beer that I reviewed, this beer is an amazing balance of aromas, flavors and taste that make every sip an experience. Bitter plus sweet. Hoppiness plus maltiness. It’s a symphony where every instrument is in tune. The dry hopping and aroma of this beer is the most exceptional that I have experienced in a bottled beer - bar-none.
There is nothing unpleasant about this beer. I paid 7.50 for a 22 ounce bottle at 9.2% abv. You can’t buy a better beer at that price.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of malt and burlap (in the best way). Clear dark brown, tan head, waves of lace. Taste is malt that adds medium carbonation on the swallow, then a slap of hops. The hop "sting" slowly drops, exposing more malt. Big and bold, but not heavy. Solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a mahogany color with a tan head that vanishes quickly.
Smells, rather up front, of a complex mixture of hops and floral.
Taste, overwhelming bitter hops, some spice a dash of malt , well hidden alcohol with a very hard to find candy finish.
Overall? The only major setback is the price, 12$ for a single bottle. But if you’ve got the bonepower, get it!
