COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

A personal alltime favorite. Maybe more of an Imperial Pale Ale, none the less it is great. Lots of hops!

On Tap at The Gingerman in NYC. Liquid candy for adults. Beautiful bouqet of hops nestled in thick, sweet malt with sweet spiciness all around. This is big and perfectly balanced. Not sure what this is like in the bottle- but on tap it is heavenly.

Absolute perfection. Nice malty/caramel aroma that lingers. Mouthfeel is full and balanced, thick as a milkshake. Light hoppiness on the finish that reminds you you're still drinking "beer". Overall one of my favorite beers in the world.

For something which is made right down the street...I can only say how thankful I am to live where I do. This is a great bottled beer...available anytime I want. Definitly my favorite in terms of quality balanced with how available it is.

This is a great beer. This seems more like a double IPA rather than a barley wine....BTW this is much better than the Avery DIPA’s they’ve put out (11 and Maharaja). A heavy malt aroma but your hit with a truckload of hop flavor and bittering when you sip this one. A great example of balance between the malt. hops and alcohol...this is a pretty big beer but you’ll find your self taking big satisfying swigs of this one.

Pours a lovely garnet color with a small light amber head. The nose is full of hops.Hops all the way through with some carmel. Great mouthfeel. I think Hog Heaven is best when fresh from a keg, but if your not a hophead it ages nicely!

Hazy red brown with good, creamy, tan head / Sweet nose of pine, caramel, and citrus / Full body, moderately sweet but offset by good, biting, hops, with excellent balance and long, sweet & bitter finish / Flavors of cut pine, caramel, grapefruit, orange, and resin / A near perfect barleywine. Should age well.

25-SEP-2010, bottle @home, Marianne brought this back from New York:-) Beautiful copper with high lasting off-white head. Very inviting. Somewhat clear and light for a barley wine, a bit dark for an IIPA... ...and this is just what an ideal IIPA should be. Painfully hoppy with loads of malt. I know it is a barley wine, but it is never sticky and it continues to be fresh, if a barley wine can be that? Very very grape fruit like with some charamel. Very full, not alcoholic at all, just wonderfully creamy and extremely long lasting bitter finish. Best Barley wine ever? Thank you, Marianne:-)

Nice copper color with a light head. Aroma is intensely hopped giving me high hopes for another highly hopped barleywine. This was the only small flaw here for me; I felt another round of hops would have made this an ideal barleywine. Slick body with oily qualities and great carbonation.

A soft amber mixed with hints of organge pour from the glass and create semi frothy head. Starts with a sweet amost floral like start and ends with a resin bomb! The taste starts witha medium sweet flavor and ends with a medium bitter flavor. Please dont let the pink fool you!
