4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured into large snifter. Nice medium head with light with caramel tones. Light hazy appearance. Color is a reddish golden with a hue of apricot jam in the refracted light.
Now for the aroma. Initial fruity sweet notes of tropical pineapple and guava, but strong grapefruit and resinous scents of cedar in this beer. Hints of pepper, eucalyptus or mint in there and some bread and yeast.
This beer is full bodied and has significant mouth-feel with each sip. Itís plenty bitter, but is offset with with enough sweetness and a twinge of tart. It ends on a bitter note, having a long finish with lingering flavors of maltiness.
Unlike the last beer that I reviewed, this beer is an amazing balance of aromas, flavors and taste that make every sip an experience. Bitter plus sweet. Hoppiness plus maltiness. Itís a symphony where every instrument is in tune. The dry hopping and aroma of this beer is the most exceptional that I have experienced in a bottled beer - bar-none.
There is nothing unpleasant about this beer. I paid 7.50 for a 22 ounce bottle at 9.2% abv. You canít buy a better beer at that price.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of malt and burlap (in the best way). Clear dark brown, tan head, waves of lace. Taste is malt that adds medium carbonation on the swallow, then a slap of hops. The hop "sting" slowly drops, exposing more malt. Big and bold, but not heavy. Solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a mahogany color with a tan head that vanishes quickly.
Smells, rather up front, of a complex mixture of hops and floral.
Taste, overwhelming bitter hops, some spice a dash of malt , well hidden alcohol with a very hard to find candy finish.
Overall? The only major setback is the price, 12$ for a single bottle. But if youíve got the bonepower, get it!

With Z , pours a mahogany brown maple color with no head . Nose is sweet caramel, malt and toffee. Taste is very bitterly sweet with strong alcohol . Finishes on the same hoppy bitter heavy malty , and caramel notes. This one packs a punch . Quaff Score 6 / 10

Big bottle with commonmac during March madness. Alcohol and dark fruit nose. Sweet, medium boozy, good oily mouthfeel. This is a barley wine up my alley.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
3/6/16. Bomber. Earthy hop-filled nose. Taste is huge with thick medium roast malt competing with a monster hop profile. Not aged so still a bit raw. I could see the nose largely disappearing w age but the body rounding out nicely.
