COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Overly hopped, good malt bill to back it up, but u might as well call this Yeti or sasquatch. since bigfoot has been around for years and this beer is just they’re own version of it

Big bottle purchased at Elevated. Consumed in tulip glass. Deep orange, maybe copper. Aroma picks up the hops added near the end of the brewing process. Little bit of a tropical fruit element. Persistent half finger white head. Taste is really interesting conflicting style profiles. Definitely hoppy especially at the finish. Slaps you in the face. The hop resin and bitterness is there in full force. It has some of Belgian malty sweetness and dark fruit, raisin quality at the beginning. Alcohol presence. Starts off soft before giving way to the oily hop resin towards the end. I like the beginning but think the hops are overdone at the end. I guess Hog Purgatory would be a better name in my book.

Tropical fruit in the nose. Pineapple, mango, passion fruit, citrus and pine. Copper brown with thick head. Nice bitter bite help balance the alcohol. Sweet and malty finish.

I had this beer at the Flying Saucer in San Antonio trying to achieve my plate and it was one of those that I will have to drink again and thwart my efforts on obtaining my plate. Amazing beer with a huge compliment of flavors.

More California IPA then barleywine. Pours a nice deep orange wit a white head. Smells of hops and grapefruit. Taste is very hoppy throughout, with just a slight amount of barleywine, but lots of grapefruit, some soapiness and a very bitter finish with lemon rind and thyme. Lingering bitter finish. Had in the bottle. Expected a nicely balanced barleywine, but hops overwhelm everything else.

Poured a dark amber to orange colour with a off white head that left thick lacing. Aroma is hops, caramel, and hints of candied fruits. Flavor is roasted sweet malts, hops, faint citrus, molasses, and sweet fruits. Medium bodied with light carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel ending in a slightly harsh bitter finish. The bitterness seems to increase with each sip, but the overall flavor is well balanced between bitter and sweet elements.

It pours a cloudy like brown with a tan head. As the head dissipates, lacing is present. It has the smell of dried fruit, molasses, alcohol, with a sweet fruit smell. It has a surprisingly sweet fruit taste with molasses and caramel. The bitterness is more on the mild side compared to others in the class except for a twinge in the back. The bitterness became more pronounced as I drank more. It produces a pleasant warming on the way down.

Bottle @ home, from WholeFoods, Addison. Hog heaven and hop heaven! Rich, walnut, rosebud, booze and hops. Well balanced, very good.

Dark amber with thin rimming beige head; aroma is blend of hops and malt sweetness; flava is roasty and hoppy upfront nicely blended with a malty sweetness with notes of molasses and sweet cherry; feels medium with decent foamy fizziness; finishes dry slightly bitter and herbal notes.

On tap at Banter Bar, Brooklyn, 2013 vintage. Pours a chestnut brown with a small white head with lacing that clings to the sides. Aroma is caramel, toffee, fig, some mild hops in the back. Flavor is similar. Lots of fig, and toffee, caramel. Lovely hop finish. Really only get the hop bitterness in the finish. So nice.
