COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Golden amber color. Strong white head. Floral to grapefruit aroma. Then came the hop attack. It attacks the tongue and never surrenders until the wonderful citrus aftertaste. Still a very smooth and appetizing beer. Another outstanding beer from Avery, well done.

golden color with white head, nice citrus and floral aroma. Well balanced between malt and the citrus and floral hops. nice bitter hop finish, not the hop monster like some IPA's, but a very pleasurable drinking experience nonetheless.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2012 rough carbonation, coarse malt, dirty yeast esters, resin hops, simple and boring and poorly made but the Colorado locals who seems not to know better think it’s the shit.

This is Hog Heaven's little brother. Very nice IPA. Columbus hops are fantastic.

I just tried this and it was just great. What a smooth IPA, with a really nice finish. I'll go out of my way for more of this, a very nice ale.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2005 This is a beer that might lack some of the cred of many IPAs - it is very sunshine golden in color and the hops are not mind blowing in any way. There is nice aroma of spicy hop. At first this ale seems a tad watery, but as it warms, the richness develops and a sweet flavor balances the generous hops. This is a nice beer, not overpowering, could posibly be a session IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2008 Medium copper color with a substantial pillowy top. The aroma is merely vague, the beer’s only notable drawback. This is perfectly hopped, giving it a nice fruity and flowery character, but there’s a robust maltiness behind it and even a hint of smoke. Superb.

Pretty good IPA - nice crisp hoppiness throughout. Grassy/hoppy aroma & a light gold color (too light?)

Golden color with a small white head. Aroma of hops and something wierd??? Nice bitter hop flavor. Long bitter finish.

This beer poured a copper gold color and formed a foamy white head that left some lace as it subsided. There was a small amount of carbonation present. The aroma was of hops and citrus. The flavor was of hops and of what I would call citrus rind, which is a interesting characteristic of the hops that leads to slightly burnt/bitter finish.
