COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

I'm no beer sommelier, but as a regular joe that loves to try new brews this one is very intense on the hoppiness. Which i love. It also has a bitter finish and in my opinion is not for the novice IPA drinker. Upon the pour, avery ipa is an amber color with a thin white head. Delicious but as i said a bit bitter on the finish

CAN 355 ML from CH-303. Look: clear golden-amber, ivory fluffy head. Aroma: citrus and some resinous and minty notes „rounded” by malt candy, marmalade and biscuit. Taste: soft hops, light grapefruit citrus, „soft” resin well balanced by the biscuit and fruity malts, nice clean and dry bitterness without any trace of tannins. Very well!

Standard IPA in a can. I'd like to give it a try on tap. Will drink again.

Owe this a rerate after I get a fresh one. From the can. Aroma of earthy hop, pine, and dirty malt. Pours amber with a big sticky head. Taste is old red grapefruit, dirt, pine, and a muddled bitter malt finish. Very bitter but so dark in color and tone that it was not very enjoyable. Maybe I just don’t like CO IPA’s.

Pours cloudy amber with low white head. Aroma of light resin, citrus, grapefruit. Taste is medium fruit bitter with resin bitter finish. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation.

Aroma here is superb from newly cut grass, grapefruits, tropical forest and a slight sting from something I really can’t put my finger on. The taste comes in with that hop sensation that I look for in an IPA. Almost aggressive hop-bite up front, floral, fruity with a bitter-sweet finish. The malts stay hidden, but are there as a backing vocalist, carrying the show forwards. Totally my style of IPA!

Blonde, belle mousse blanche relativement persistante. Limpide. Arômatique relativement balancée pour une IPA, houblonnage sur les fruits/agrumes. En bouche identique, avec une forte amertume mais balancée. Pas très résineuse en bouche. Longueur en bouche importante. Carbonation moyenne. IPA très balancée en houblonnage.

"for a supposedly british style brewery, this one’s pretty stinkin hoppy. looks unassuming, but between the aroma and the taste, this is a highly enjoyable bitter, floral, grapefruity ipa. well done."

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 330ml can served in a pint glass. A: Pours a slightly cloudy orange color color forming a medium creamy white head that leaves many lingering molasses lacings in the glass. Medium retention and a thin foam layer remains for a long time on the top. S: Refreshing citrus, grassy, piny and flowery hops in the nose... Intense... Caramel and crystal malts. Notes of oranges and tropical fruits. Slightly sweet in the nose. T: Follows the nose. A slightly caramel malts taste followed by a nice hop bitter punch. The light caramel sweetness combine perfectly with the bitterness making it quite enjoyable in the mouth. Notes of orange and grapefruit. Citrus, grassy and piny hops profile. Great sweet-bitterness balance. M: Light body. Slightly molasses. Good carbonation. Citrus piny aftertaste. O: Very drinkable and enjoyable IPA. As suggested in the can: "Hoppy Freaks Unite!".
