COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Can. Pours a faded orange and light gold color with thick foamy white head. Lots of ripe orange, tangerine and mango notes in the aroma as well as some caramel and pine at the end. The taste starts out heavy on the grapefruit and bitter hops resin flavors along with some toasted malt and caramel rounding it out. The body is adequately carbonated with a bitter, citrus finish. Definitely one of the more full-flavored and well-balanced West Coast style IPAs.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear golden amber with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of light citrus with a hint of pine and backing sweet bread. Flavor begins with light grassy pine with backing sweet bread and grain.

Pours like you would expect of an IPA: a dark orangy balance, thin head and translucent (no yeasties). Smells lighty of hop, lots of floral notes. Taste matches those notes, with a *ting* of citrus. This is a good, balanced IPA. Well done, Avery Brewing.

12 oz bottle pours an amber/orange color with a medium white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, grapefruite. Medium bodied, nice bitter finish

Pours an amber-copper color with good-sized frothy white head. Aroma is strongly floral, with hops and pine. Flavor is a good, bitter IPA with strong citrus and hop flavors. I think this beer might be a bit under-rated--it really is quite a good IPA.

Pours a clear light gold (tint of green) with an average size head. Not too much aroma, but the flavor is a subtle hop. The hoppiness here creeps up on you.

Bottle. Pours an amber orange color with a small airy white head. The nose is full of citrus and floral hop notes. Some orange peel and mild grains. The taste is medium sweet with a long, dry bitter finish. Balanced malting. This beer is certainly bitter, but not overpowering. The body is medium, the carbonation active, the texture a bit oily. Overall, a pretty good IPA.

Quite a good standard ipa. Nose is full of citrusy, floral hops, so I was expecting some heavy duty bitterness when I took my first sip. I was surprised to find a well-balanced, easy to drink (but still pleasantly hoppy) ipa. Very good all-around beer.
