In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Tap at new bohemia in bumped pint glass with commonmac. Gold with white head and good lacing. Resin sweet citrus in the nose. Resin taste with off grain bitterness. Strange sweet and sour bite. Lingering taste not ideal. Has some room for improvement.

On tap at New Bohemia in Golden Valley. Commonshawn present. Quality half finger of head on a standard looking IPA. Lacing is strong. Aroma contains plenty of citrus and in particular grapefruit. Some pine too. Taste involves citrus rind with bitterness prevailing. Resiny mouthfeel...slight oily nature. Hops run throughout and serve as the only real star. Leaves a little bit of a grainy taste at the end that I don’t like. It’s an average to above average IPA. Not a lot else to say.

12oz brown bottle into a Geordie Schooner glass. It poured a nice clear light orange amber colour with weak white foam. Mostly neutral grainbill, very faint Munich caramelly and bready notes, very little residual sweetness, emphasis definitely on the high-alpha American hops (I believe: Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook.) Sharp resiny bitterness and intense aromas and flavours: black currant fruit, lemon peel, cedar chips, honeysuckle nectar, unexpected nutmeg spice in the aftertaste. Light-medium body, strong carbonation, snappy dry finish. Tasty and true-to-style American IPA. No wonder it’s one of the best examples and such a successful flagship IPA brand.

Pours clear blonde. Not much head. Smell is grassy with a fruity undertone. Taste is bitter, grassy, fruity ( more than the aroma) . Slightly malty in the undertone. Ok beer, but not as refreshing as I like an ipa to be

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours a clear orange with a creamy head. Aroma is citrus fruits particularly orange, grapefruit, with slight caramel malt aroma also coming through. Body is medium moth low to moderate carbonation. Taste is much like the aroma with lots of zest and pepper. Really nice.
