3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2014 Dåse, 355 ml. Næsten klar orangegylden, lavt men stabilt hvidt skum. Grapefrugt. Karamel. Fermenteret græs. Konfiteret lime. Lækker vestkyst IPA med høj drikbarhed og en god afstemt balance mellem maltens karamelsødme og humlens frugtige bitre olier.

Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance- Served a golden orange beer with a one finger white head. The head had moderate retention and faded to give a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma was rather sweet but at the same time hoppy as well. It had a base of tropical fruit aromas of pineapple and mango while the hoppy aromas were citrus in nature and of a grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon smell. There were also lighter notes of some caramel sweetness mixed within. Overall rather sweet and pleasant.
Taste – The taste begins more on the sweet side with a flavor of caramel, tangerine, and some mango. With these tastes is a grapefruit hoppiness as well as a bready backbone. As the taste advances the sweetness dims some and the taste bitters more as lemon and pine hop flavors hit the tongue. These flavors take the taste to the end where they are met with some floral notes, leaving a satisfyingly semi-bitter taste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the thicker and creamier side with a slightly lower than average level of carbonation. It is quite soothing on the tongue and very nice for the hoppy and lightly fruity flavor of the beer.
Overall – A quite tasty IPA with some nice sweet and hop flavors.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Avery India Pale Ale has a thin, slightly off-white head, a brilliant orange, but opaque, appearance, with noticeable bubbles streams and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, white bread, citrus hop oil, and even some slightly turned fruit. Taste is of sweetness, lightly-roasted malt, moderate bitterness, and juicy hops. Mouthfeel is medium and a tad slick, and Avery India Pale Ale finishes puckering and easy going. RJT

A sleeper that unexpectedly shook the very core of a buying strategy. Even in a can, the exterior beckoned for a thirsty adventurer. Upon the first drink, the words "drink ability" we're re-defined. The initial sip suggested that perhaps too many prior drab IPAs had dampened the experienced pallet. However with the next intentional drink, all previous qualms were deleted due to the fine smoothness and pleasant unpredictability.
