In the 1700ís one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Coloradoís hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Honey malt, lovely fruity hop bouquet, hoppy bitter finish. Solid crispy and fruity IPA.

A sleeper that unexpectedly shook the very core of a buying strategy. Even in a can, the exterior beckoned for a thirsty adventurer. Upon the first drink, the words "drink ability" we're re-defined. The initial sip suggested that perhaps too many prior drab IPAs had dampened the experienced pallet. However with the next intentional drink, all previous qualms were deleted due to the fine smoothness and pleasant unpredictability. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A great IPA. Have tried twice at Bakersfield in OTR. Would buy again when available. A very good IPA, folks.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is just lightly citrusy with a little too much careless malt sweetness. The flavor is quite odd, the mix of hops is quite different than I was expecting. Just lightly bitter with minimal citrus. A little too much caramel malt on the finish though, it dulls the hops a bit. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Ok, just not a favorite of mine.

355ml can. Clear light amber, white head. Smells of caramel with hoppy herbaceous notes and some sweet fruits. Taste is a lot of hops and a good malty backbone. Very good bitter finish and hoppy aftertaste.

Somewhat peachy hoppy aroma, with some barnyard/lemongrass type aromas. Nice amount of malt, hop balances the malt nicely. Really well balanced ipa, but hop profile is not quite what I am after. Very nice though. Peachy with a bitter finish. Quite a bit if hops. Actually the more I drink the more I like it. Some fruity hops balanced by a bitter hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Presentation: It was poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into pint glass. The label has no abv info. Appearance: Avery IPA has an orange tan body with some fine sediment. On top is about a one fingers thick, light tan head which fades quickly to just a thin film that sticks to the edge of the glass. Smell: The nose has a big fruity and juicy hop presence with loads of tropical fruit, orange rind and sweet malt with a hint of bread yeast. Tast/palate: Itís flavor first hits you with big juicy hops right up front. The malt offers some sweetness for balance before a big citrus rind/pith like bitterness slowly sneaks in on the sides and lingers on palate. The palate feels fairly full and there is just enough carbonation to give it some lift.

The first thing in noticed about this one was the color. I really like the color of this beer I donít know why. Iím sure all the beers I enjoy honestly have the same appearance but for some reason this one just jumped at me and I was like oh shit that looks nice. Anyway, the aroma is really nice on this one. Soft fruit is what hit me. Like peach. I donít know why but peach just stood out and maybe nectarine. I really like it. The taste speaks for itself. Itís wonderful. Just perfect fast for an IPA. Nothing off on this one. Nothing weird. No weird sweet malty mess which always seems to haunt me with IPAís. Killer stuff. Highly recommended. I got this beast in a 6 pack of canís and it was phenomenal. I can only imagine what itís like on tap. Cheers.

Pour from bottle in Killeen Texas. Light amber with a thin white head. A good IPA that doesn't try to make it overly fancy like other microbrews sometimes do. Not great, but pretty good stuff. Duces. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
