COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours clear golden with a decent beige head and a floral pine aroma. There is pleasant caramel malt flavor with significant carbonated hop bitterness. Leaves a dry sensation on the palate. Pretty good.

12 oz bottle. Hazy orange with a creamy white head. Really floral hop aroma with some grapefruit. Flavor is bitter hops up front and some malt that comes in and smooths it out and then finishes long and bitter again. Medium body with average carbonation and a long dry bitter finish. Great dry bitter IPA, an easy drinker.

Pours golden with minimal head and solid lacing. Interesting arom of sharp cheddar and a hint of pine. Medium to full body. Taste is cheese, pine and grapefruit (in that order). Hop character blends well with all notes and never pronounces itself independantly. Finishes bitter but well balanced.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden with lots of carbonation and a corresponding towering white head. Interesting hop profile in the aroma, with juicy orange, floral, and spicy aromas with a bit of honey sweetness. Flavor is a bit more standard, consisting of grassy, grapefruit, and slight floral and spicy hop flavors backed by biscuit. Nice bitterness. Very good at first, but it falls apart a little as grassy flavors take over pretty strongly.

Nose is a full orange/pine, some nice malt too, hazy orange/apricot, pours a small but firm off-wite head. Flavour is a big time orange/pine with loads of malt.Medium bodied, very well balanced, fittingly bitter. Fine example!

Bottle from Philadelphia craft beer store. Golden/orange pour with sweet malt and pine aroma. Floral hoppy pine taste with hints of orange peel. The alcohol was blended well and it finished dry and crisp. I enjoyed it.
